Seems to be quite a strange player doesn't he? Sometimes he looks very average but at other times can look absolutely superb and a type of driving midfielder you wouldn't mind having here. His goal yesterday was beautiful. I'll admit though that I only see the odd game of his.
Does anyone watch him much at all?

I've always been impressed by him and believe some of his performances go under the radar. Having said that I don't think he has the consistency to perform for a better team than villa. Just a step too far for him IMO but having said that I would rather have him than Rodwell at the minute!

I also feel his performances have been worthy of an England call up, if Cleverley can continuously be picked then surely this lad deserves a chance!

So so many deserve a chance before Cleverley.Decent player Delph but I would agree not a top 4 team player and I am in no way convinced he is better than Rodwell.

Possibly right, but we do need a quota of run of the mill over priced home grown players. Sinclair and Rodwell will realise they have wasted two years of their career and want away soon.

Think we are more likely to keep the current batch for a year or 2 and try and bring some youngsters through instead of spunking more money away on shit like Sinclair and rodwell.

We are gonna want to bring someone through pretty sharpest when the campus is up and running to encourage youngsters and make them believe they can play for the first team through the academy.

Has done great to rediscover himself and is a talent.

Some have mentioned him on here before. He is top quality on his day, then Joey Barton's shit brother the following week.

The thing is, unlike a lot of huff and puff English played he actually has talent. A lot of it. Very skillful player and on his day can be like Fernandinho as you say.

I'm not saying we go and buy him but if he doesn't make it at a better club then Villa it will be a waste of talent.

Quite a few English players have skill & pace too, but are just dumb when it comes to football. Villa's English players epitomise that imo. Delph isn't as dumb as a Lennon or Walcott, but there were many great situations for Villa in that Chelsea game, where they were totally blind to the possibilities & just ran aimlessly into trouble or played a brainless pass, when they could have had Chelsea in big trouble. Delph was just as culpable in that as some of the others.

Fernandinho would hardly ever miss the situation.

Didn't he have a incident a while back? Some sort of a scandal or something like that?

Remember he is young, nothing like Fernandinho's age I would have thought. We need English players. I've thought for some time he would make an excellent squad player who might train on.He has the lungs and the skill and is competitive. Game knowledge is an acquired attribute that can be learned.A yes for me.

he missed a great situation from a yard out on Saturday, Delph is a player worth watching and better than the twat Wilshire.

He turned us down - one of the 'I wouldn't join City' brigade.

And he will probably miss more, but he doesn't often miss the team situation & fail to see four of five easy passing options because he's looking at his own feet, which is 100% specifically what I'm talking about.

Delph misses most things Fernandinho misses hardly anything. That's why they are where they are.
