Sunderland/Bottom Three

Sunderland made a real good fist of it in the League Cup final but they're deep in the shit again now. So strange; they really seemed to be picking up under Poyet in January and February. I think that defeat at Norwich killed them.

Fulham are surely doomed and I can't see Cardiff picking up enough points. Palace keep picking up the odd win, West Brom have the experience, Norwich have points on the board and West Ham, Hull, Stoke, Villa and Swansea seem to have pulled away a bit. If Sunderland lose against West Ham tomorrow night, can anyone see any of the current bottom three surviving?

City will win the league and definitely not go down. Can't believe you are even speculating about this. Just because you're a hundred years old doesn't give you the right to spread this doom and gloom.

But seriously, the bottom three look set to me. Sunderland will do well to score against West Ham tomorrow (who I'm sure will be delighted with a 0-0) and Magath seems quite happy to write off games against any team currently above Fulham in the league as too hard. Cardiff are the only ones with a bit of confidence right now having twice saved the game against West Brom and have a reasonable run in. But even so, they probably have too much to do.

West Brom and Palace are likely only two wins from safety, taking their goal difference into account. Two wins from seven games... I can see them both getting those six point easily enough. The teams above them already have a good bit of distance.

Huge game tonight. I'd be looking forward to it if it didn't feature West Ham.
