Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is expected to be fit for Sunday's Premier League game at title rivals Liverpool despite leaving training early on Saturday as a precaution.

Top scorer Sergio Aguero (hamstring) is set to feature after five games out.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers must decide whether to stick with Mamadou Sakho at centre-back or recall Daniel Agger following a knee problem.

Defender Jose Enrique remains out, but Joe Allen could return in midfield.

Then, at seven minutes after the originally scheduled kick-off time - a fabulous countrywide gesture this weekend, a game worthy of the highest emotions will start.

In the stands and on the field it will be full of passion and could be pivotal, but with a month of the season to go we can't call it decisive. Especially not with Chelsea going to Anfield next.

It's remarkable that both teams go into the game as masters of their own destiny with regards to winning the title. Only a Liverpool win will keep it that way for them, whilst City could draw and still (in theory) have control.

Brendan Rodgers has done a superb job of taking the pressure off his side all season, and even as it ramps up to new levels he has insisted that they'll "just try to enjoy" what is surely the biggest league game Liverpool have played in years.

There's been lots TO enjoy lately, with the Reds on a run of nine Premier League wins in a row and 14 unbeaten - scoring 46 goals along the way.

Even though they've been overtaken by Liverpool (90 plays 84), City are of course good for a few goals themselves, with last week's win over Southampton being the 16th time this season that they've scored four or more in a game.

The controversial second against Saints led to suggestions from some that they've been lucky of late with a decision or two. I would say that losing only one of their last 20 league games is little to do with luck overall - and who HASN'T won a title without a bit anyway?

The game, the noise, the (inevitable?) goals - I can't wait. It's the game of the season - so far.

Just to say it dispells the shit being spouted and pointed to their last game against us where all but 1 player was bought, not nurtured, as they'd like you to think. The fact that they've continually spent over 60 million on average in the last 10 seasons and that Rogers himself has spent 100 million in the 2 seasons he's been there.

Fucking hypocritical is fucking right and now that the day is here, I hope we go out and do it 'The Right Way', on the pitch, playing a game of football.

Not by using a tragedy to spur us on.

Not by using a tragedy to sell merchandise.

Not by using every media influence to get an upper hand.

And definately not by talking the fans into a frenzy that could lead to problems after the game.

Let's do it the 'Right Way' Blues. Support our team, recognise the moment, then get on with the fucking game.

I had a look at that site a couple of years back and I'm not sure if any of them have actually set foot in their stadium. They all seem to be glory-hunters and have the same mentality as the Rags - self-entitlement at it's fullest.

The way they feign injury and go down without a touch over the last couple of seasons it's now become habit for them to shout for every single thing - they must spend most of the game doing it.

My question would be 'When will it start?'. Will it be right from the off to get our players booked or will it be at the end when they are chasing/needing to close out the game? It will be down to the ref to be strong and not go with the crowd and if he does it early then I can see the game being taken out of our hands.

To be fair to Clattenburg, for me he's been one of the better ref's this year and has come on leaps and bounds - maybe a turning point last season with all the goings on. He's not been bad with us over the last couple of seasons either. There's been a few dubious decisions, as with all ref's, but I don't think we've lost a game with him in charge since the Chelsea game in the title winning season. He was also there for the 6-1.

Admittedly, he's probably got a similar record for the Dippers and was in-charge of the their recent win over the Rags but I had no issues with the penalty's given. In fact, it made me very happy.

Just making a sausage butty and thought I'd look up how the Dippers have got on in thier games preceeding the Hillsborough tragedy date (15 Apr) and they've not lost a game for the last 10 years. The last team to beat them was Charlton and I think they only lost 2 games out of 20 either side of the date.

Saying that, the last time we played them prior to this date, it ended 0-0, about 8 years ago.

Not all bad then.
