Had an excellent game. To be fair he has been our best defender the last month

Honestly? I know he has been really poor for most of the season, but this last month he has really upped his game and turned some great performances in.

Bullshit, mate. He has been great for the last 2 months. Better than Kompany today as well.

Good call, although perhaps Zurich is being a trifle 'tongue in cheek', with his comment ??

Well both Vinnie and Demich didn't exactly do themselves favours yesterday. Judging by the way Skrtel gave Vinnie the run around at corners. It's true Demich has played better this last few months.

he has done better, improved a lot with some decent performances. wouldn't say he is excellent or anything like that. he always looks like there is a few mistakes in him, sometimes he will get away with it sometimes he wont. after two years we still need to sort out that position. to say he is generally as good as or better than vinny is a bit silly, the injury obviously affected vinny a lot yesterday.

A number of players have grown through the season; Garcia Kolarov and MDM. None of them are perfect but they've really contributed when a lot of us had given up on them ever doing so. I think it just shows that it takes longer for some players to adapt to the PL than others. Silva was the opposite; brilliant start than pretty average now great again. I just saw the extended highlights; he ran the game for long periods in the second half and nearly dragged us to victory on his own. If he keeps it up he could yet win us the title.

Him and Garcia are slowly becoming my favorite players!! Some turn around, especially since I thought Garcia was only here to sell calendars!

I thought he did really really well v the scouse rags, when you consider that the captain was having a nervous breakdown. He did the kind of desperate, lifesaving defending that Lescott sometimes has to do in similar circumstances. Spotting danger & snuffing it out.

It's a pity about his tendancy to make stupid, match losing, mistakes, because he is a proper defender at other times, like VK & JL, or Zabba, who is willing to put himself on the line & risk looking a twat, in order to save the team. Unlike the Nastasics, Boatengs & Savics , who tend to look on such things as somebody else's problem & just stand in their little area looking in control as the oppo score.
