Manchester City fans 'shocked and shaken' after alleged attack by Liverpool supporters
Supporters' coach is attacked on way to Anfield by rival fans throwing stones and bricks before Man City's 3-2 Premier League defeat to Liverpool
Manchester City supporters travelling to Liverpool on Sunday were left "shaken" after a window was smashed on their coach while approaching Anfield by rival fans throwing stones and bricks.
The 25-seater minibus, carrying the Eccles Branch of the City supporters club, was travelling towards the Kop end of the stadium when a side window was shattered by missiles.
Passengers on the bus, who informed City officials that the missiles were thrown by supporters wearing Liverpool shirts, escaped without serious injury, but were described as shocked and shaken by club officials.
The incident was reported to Merseyside Police.
First time in decades that Liverpool play City in a title challenge. I was at the last one & guess what, the fucking coach had no windows in it BEFORE tHE GAME. What followed got much worse.
Had we won, there's a fair chance quite a few would have been introduced to what football was like during the 70s.
