Would have no hesitation of having him back, better than Wright by a mile, did very well at Middlesborough on loan this season and I think kept many clean sheets through some great performances by him

So he wants to be a 3rd choice at the richest pl club? Nah fuck muppets looking for a payday. If he wants to replace hart then that's a different story.

He's not Association Trained for UEFA purposes, is he? If not, a waste of a UEFA squad place, unless we've got a kid who can come in as 3rd choice. I've said before, Weaver would be ideal as third choice here, 'cos he counts as club-developed.

he is not - you are correct. isn't wayne hennessey considered club trained for UCL purposes? 3rd choice keeper should almost always be English/Welsh/homegrown at a minimum, because it's such an easy spot to fill the quota. Johansen or even Lawlor could probably fill this in a pinch - not a lot of risk they'd actually see any match time.

He was watching the EDS the other week so obviously likes to keep an eye out off our results - could do much worse if Taylor/Wright or whoever is there finds that their contract runs out - not that we'd miss them

Shay could come back as second choice as Pants is moving on i reckon then we could promote one of the younger lads to third choice and have Shay doing a bit of coaching in the EDS.

We could do a lot worse.Have to feel lemons is on the move this summer and Shay would be a far better option than Wright. He kept 10 clean sheets 16 appearances while on loan at Middlesbrough this season. No harm having him around the club working with younger keepers he's a top pro.

Seems a legit good bloke who I would be happy to see on the coaching team. No qualms with him coming back as a number 2/3.

Be it as Hart or Panti's replacement. We need to bring in a keeper that can distribute the ball.

A great keeper in his day and a top fella to boot but he would take one of the 17 non-association grown spots so it won't happen.

But, if Panti goes, we are in the same position as before. 2 Homegrown keepers, 1 'Foreigner'
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

True but if Shay comes in I'd imagine he'd be a third choice emergency back up, that's a waste of a foreigner squad place. We can't really expect him to be Joe's #2, he wouldn't provide enough competition.
