............ and this is the reason we CANNOT fail tomorrow -
"You know what galls me even more Timbo? That to the players, there's no real love or even passion for the club. More likely to kiss their bank statement than the club crest. Oh yeah, that club crest with the 3 fucking made-up stars.
They are indeed Mercenary FC, complete with ridiculous salaries and an artificially rigged chance at silverware every season. Soulless in every sense. They may as well have changed the club's name. Nobody grows up wanting to play for Manchester City, and that's not going to change in my lifetime. As for the fans, well the vast majority have drunk the Kool Aid and jumped aboard.
All of which is why I've delighted in watching them repeatedly fail in the CL, and long may it continue, however many times they buy their way to the title. Then there's the FFP arrogance. Hopefully UEFA prove not as toothless (or corrupt given Platini's beloved PSG) as we all fear, this mooted transfer cap is a positive sign at least.
The only redeeming factor they have is their current manager. Like Ancelotti (and Rafa) at Chelsea, the man has too much class for that club."

Of course they are bitter, they've probably got to give the title back that they won last [strike]season[/strike] month. The cult of the Dippers has dragged them in and then spat them out after fully brain-washing them into thinking they're somehow way and above all this money lark. You see, none of the old Sky 4, or G14 for that matter, have ever spent a penny to build that 'istry that they all talk about.
Classless bitter bastards, just like their manager. And the season isn't even finished yet.

Only while they're/we're challenging. The real stuff will always be reserved for the Rags.

Agreed. I think the rags have been great comedy value this season.

I have been monitoring that site/thread for several months and they have moved from mildly positive comments about CITY, summed up as we are a far better evil than Chelsea and the scum - to less mild - to outright bitterness as the season as progressed - all in line with their confidence level in their own chances to win the title.
The period at which the odds had swung totally in their favour was 'off the scale' in preaching their 'gospel - they really do feel that there is only one club with the entitlement to win the league. As we have trumped them (hopefully) at the end it has all swung around to themes - of cheating (driven by FFPR), no 'istry' - compared to theirs and in particular - shit fans - due to the frequent embarrassment of seeing the empty seat on TV.
Re the empty seats issues - I do think that this is embarrassing - I have 2 season tickets - but make sure that if I cannot make it I give them to people that can. As the club records most games as sell outs there must be a lot of season tickets holders who do not.
But they are very myopic on this issue - seeing it only as a chance to gloat in their attendance and atmosphere and rubbish us.
Go back a few generations and along with the scum, red scouse and others we all had a core support of 30 - 40k. The difference is simply that the red scouse managed to win some trophies at a time that there was more global broadcasting/appeal - and they started to attract a world-wide and pan-UK following - simply because they won. The scum had a larger fan base and were fortunate enough to go on their winning spree at the advent of the PL - so became very rich. Both clubs during their successful years were able to attract significant revenues - therefore poach the best players - therefore win - therefore attract larger audiences - it is a simple cycle. The same opportunity was there for Leeds, Forest and others.
So what will happen now I guess is that we will continue to compete/win - we will attract larger audiences and revenues - we will be able to survive FFPR and attract top players (and because of the academy develop our own) - and become the brand that the scum is now - it is just a cycle and they will have to get over it.

They keep making references to god, "If City win the league, there is no God" and so on.
Don't they know that God looks after the team his kid plays for?

Anfield probably would have scattered empty seats as well, if it weren't for the fact that one third of the seats are sold off to Norwegians.
I was there in November against Fulham, and wasn't very impressed by the atmosphere, despite them winning big.

Apparently there is a high percentage of Scandinavian season ticket holders.

I watched a cup final between the rags and the dippers a few years back (owen scored the winner for the dippers) and lasted less than a minute as I couldn't decided who I wanted to lose more. Went for a run instead.

Their success in the 60, 70s, 80s and 90s was bankrolled by Littlewoods Pools money. They were spending 2 or 3 thousand quid on players then suddenly Littlewoods came in and they broke the British transfer record twice in a row. They had won 8 trophies up to that point in their 'istry. Hypocritical wankers, they bought their history.

"Bit too much bitterness in this thread for me. If City win the title then they would have deserved it.
Pellegrini has a lot of class."

In 1934 we won the title only to get relegated the following year, I think we hold that title and will for some time.
