Anelka must certainly be in that group, although you couldn't say he was a failure in England in specific, tho you'd probably categorize his career as an absolute letdown vs potential i suppose.

Robbie fucking Keane? i bet he's had a wedge spent on him over the years that would shock you.

Robbie Keane was never shite. He definitely had a load spent on him because of the inter milan move when he was a kid... and of course the big wedge the dippers paid. I felt sorry for him with that move because he did little wrong but rafa used him in a game he was playing with the board.

He was never top notch, but he was most definitely a quality finisher. His stats for Ireland as well are extremely impressive.

Calm down, bitchtits.

Article is from 13th May at the end of the season

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has played down spending expectations this summer.

The Italian boss has distanced himself from claims that Los Blancos will embark on a spending spree in keeping with previous years that have seen them break the world's transfer record on the likes of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

He told reporters: "Building a team and adapting to the characteristics of the players takes a long time.

"It's not natural - you have to work at it. It's necessary to know the players well and adapt them. No system guarantees you victory - all of them are valid.

"The answer is not always to sign the best. I wouldn't sign anyone because I have the players I like. The most important thing is to go for the same objective, to value Madrid more than anything else in this case. You win as a team, not as individuals."

FFS what will they do when they decide to embark on a real spending spree?

A dud. Poor scoring record the previous four years prior to last season. Wouldn't swap any of our forwards for him

I wouldn't swap our forwards for costa either ... but I disagree that he will be a dude. I think he will do well in that team, and there will be a lot of focus on getting him the ball in the final third.

I know, thought it was more like £6m?

amazing deal when you consider that hamburg then sold us ndj for the best part of 3 times that...

FFS, we were talking total transfer fees, Hamburg signed him for £8M, then we signed him for £6M, do you two need a fucking calculator?

deandre?!

not sure if that's shocking, but black folks in america increasingly gave their children unique names after the 1970s':

http://freakonomics.com/2013/04/08/how- ... o-podcast/

http://www.nber.org/papers/w9938.pdf?new_window=1

In the 1960's, Blacks and Whites chose relatively similar first names for their children. Over a short
period of time in the early 1970's, that pattern changed dramatically with most Blacks (particularly
those living in racially isolated neighborhoods) adopting increasingly distinctive names, but a subset
of Blacks actually moving toward more assimilating names. The patterns in the data appear most
consistent with a model in which the rise of the Black Power movement influenced how Blacks
perceived their identities.

as for he as a player, i have watched him on the us national team and you definitely saw real bursts of pace and skill along the right wing (as a defender), causing havoc. he did so in a few matches in the world cup showing very good potential.

i had never heard of him until this past year, as i believe it was his first season in mls and he came right out of university, and became a star almost immediately. really did not think he would make an impact in the world cup as showing yourself for one season in mls is not necessarily enough to go on, but he impressed me in the world cup to follow, and he is only 21. could be a bargain signing for spurs if it pans out.

i met a Bulgarian bartender in Chicago two weeks ago and she was mightily impressed that i knew of Boj. He's still a player with the Bulgarian ladies. They think he's the bee's knees.

Can't believe the cunt's only 28. I'm aging faster than other people. FACT.

cheers

Always like Bojinov. Scored a couple of belters and then got injured. Best of luck to the lad except against City.

I know I posted this during the World Cup as well but that rojo lad looks likes one of those Bangkok ladyman. He could rival Ronaldo as the biggest tranny in the game right now.

Rags apparently paying the whole of Nani's wages for the loan period. That adds nearly 5 million to Rojo's purchase price.
