John Bond/Brian Clough clip was ace. It was John Bond all over - never lost the chip on his shoulder that the rest of football looked down on him... Allison, Clough, "oh they just thinksh oim a country bumpkin from nowhere, oill schow em!" Weirdly enough, as a young City fan, I actually found that appealing, because I felt a bit like that at a school full of United fans, though it was less endearing when he was having pops at Mel Machin's side from the Granada TV studios 7 or 8 years later. None of them would speak to him in the end!

I was sad when he passed away though, and turning Benfica down at a stage when he still thought he could do some good for the club reflects better than the apparent 'loyalty' of *some* of our heroes today.
