His Brazilian adventure.
Fucking WHY ? Who gives a fuck ? One and a half hours of non stop prime time tv for the cunt to promote himself. How much is that worth in advertising ?
Cunt.

The only way I'd watch that is if he dies in the end.

I'd pay to watch him tour Afghanistan on his own.

Snatches of the TV advertisements have shown him in the jungle with a snake slithering away.
I hope it didn't bite him because I wouldn't want the snake to get poisoned from doing so.

The most annoying voice in/out of football or on tele ever. Including scousers.

Yup. In comparison, Carragher's honeyed tones sound positively soothing.

Not for me, just like the 4 Game Caretaker wasn't. Are these really the things people want to see or is it for their millions of fans worldwide?

I've heard Berkham wouldn't so much as take a shit in the jungle unless he had a sponsorship deal in place (or should that be a sponsorshit deal?).

If Beckscum was in the Amazon jungle and someone told him they'd seen a stick insect, would he think his wife had come to visit him ??

I caught the end of it and guilty pleasure/embarrassing moment, every time I see him on TV, he comes across as quite a decent bloke. Yes, he's looking at the marketing angle, but so are the guests on any chat show or Top Gear or any celebrity challenge programme or most of the ones on any charity show when they visit Africa etc.
It's just a pity he played for the rags.

But if Clive James was alive and doing programmes from Brazil, or when Michael Palin does it, it's interesting. Beckham isn't. It's a cynical ploy to get viewers to watch.

I'd watch the first two, bit that doesn't make the third any less interesting. Dave just did something similar with two comedians, which I saw bits of. Main difference seemed to be budget.
If you want a show to be watched, using a celebrity makes life a lot easier than trying to convince people to watch a great programme hosted by some bloke you've never heard of.
I suspect the main issue is that he's a rag. I wish he wasn't, as he's growing on me. A bit like genital warts, but growing on me all the same

Steady on, old chap. The men in the white coats (or should that be men in black ??) might be tempted to pay you a visit and take you away.

Steady on, don't kill the poor man off yet, he's still around.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clive_JamesHis travel programmes were fantastic, loved every one. What I liked about him was his self-deprecation, such as when he went to Buenos Aires and New York, two macho cities, which he approached from the angle of not being macho at all. Like when he was in the steak restaurant in Buenos Aires, and ordered the kind of steak that Argentinians eat, but it was so heavy going for him, he was seen still trying to chomp through it when they were switching off the lights to close the restaurant. :D
Very funny man, hope he's not suffering, and wish they'd repeat some of his programmes instead of the crap being discussed.

A delightfully funny man indeed.
I remember, especially, one programme when he went to Los Angeles; a place he characterised as only being for the young, beautiful and the fake so, in order to comply with such social requirements, he went to an expensive shop and had a hairpiece fitted, trimmed and sculpted etc. to make it look as natural as possible.
All the while he had his usual amused and slightly mocking look and then, to consecrate matters, he attended a big social event where there were a load of celebrities and was completely unabashed as to whether anyone knew or had spotted his fake wig.
The whole programme was a gentle 'send-up' of Los Angeles values and excesses.
Must admit though, he looked rather good in his hairpiece and far better than anything Shrek has accomplished with his own peculiar efforts at tonsorial re-engineering.
