Tuesday 29th July at 9am


Cityzens Members with 500 or more ticket points

and yet Newcastle charge us 36 notes

That's a huge jump in price and with the £35 on top it is becoming an expensive habit if you don't have a ST. Those prices look like they've jumped £10 on average and even though we now have a squad that merits those prices (compared to others around us) it doesn't make it anymore palatable for those in the local area on average wages.

I find it starnge that the one day ticket has been pushed up so much as there's not actually that much on the books. However, the City boys will probably have seen the uptake on Vigago et al from the newer supporters who probably have a few quid to spend and have acted accordingly. There are a lot of tourists coming to see the club and on top of taking in the Rags game, they are now staying around to see the Mighty Blues as well.

It's only logical but at the same time a real shame as the bloke around the corner will probably miss out on his annual trip to the mecca that is Blue.

Whilst I dont defend the huge prices for tickets, you will always get the first home game at top dollar. Its always the same whether its southampton, newcastle or Liverpool. At least its a Cat A game for the first home game.

Last season tickets for the home opener was from £36 for adults. #fact

At least it's title rivals Liverpool so it's understandable that it is priced like derbies etc and those have been around these prices for year or two

On the plus side season cards are still cheap as chips compared to any other top ten outfit.

I'd rather day trippers be made to stump up than me pay out the arse for it.

I see the Stoke tickets are now on sale at £44. I don't know why it's cheaper against Stoke than the dippers given neither team has ever won the Prem, but there you go. I'm very happy with the price of my season tickets but the cost to buy a ticket per game is ridiculous but we are far from the most expensive.

I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment, and I'm keenly aware that ticket prices have gone up, but I'm also not ignorant to the fact that when I park my arse in the CB stand I'm sat watching the current English champions and also the team that has given it's fans more goals per £1 spent on tickets than any other top flight club in England and quite possibly Europe.
On a bang for yer bucks basis City would still be unrivaled value at twice the price.

No disrespect to those in mid-whinge on this one but if you want cheap footie then you can do just that at Oldham or Rochdale - both clubs have great fans, both clubs play the best football they can on a limited budget and tickets are cheap . . Not City of course, not the English champions for the second time in 3 years but cheap etc. and there is always that choice.

But what does the £10 or £20 extra per ticket mean to the club? Not a lot. What it means to average Joe who wants to see his team play? A Lot.

Consider it this way, club charges £10 more per each ticket (not ST's).
That's 100000 pounds more per home game, assuming we sell 10000 tickets. 1,9million more per season.
I think it's around what we pay for Sinclair etc (2,4m per season if on 50k/week) who have not done anything for this club.

I agree with that bloke at Bayern (Hoeness?) who says English clubs are milking their fans like cows.

Well if you don't want to pay what is is effect a small part of what it costs to maintain our magnificent squad then you can zip it and go watch a conference side where seats are cheap and the football reflects that.

I don't want to watch 3rd division football & I don't want to pay this much money to watch top level football either.

I think football is far too expensive & it needs a rethink all round.

I will pay for the increase in season ticket price by not going to the equivalent Cup games. It will probably work out that they have lost money from me, seeing as I usually go to all of them & if I miss 3, it's probably more than the price increase. As the price increases more, so I will go to less & less cup games, then finally chuck in the season ticket when it becomes more than I am willing to pay for the 'matchday experience' which was indeed better in the 3rd division, even though the football wasn't.

Then they have lost a regular supporter who has stuck with them through thick & thin since the 60s & they can replace me with one that hasn't. I doubt I will be alone unless things change.

Do you really think the £10 more per ticket makes any difference in maintaining this magnificent squad? If you do, fair enough but I don't believe it for a second as most of the clubs income comes from other sources anyway

Don't get me wrong I gladly pay a bit more and watch City play good football but I still think football clubs are milking the fans.

I'm not sure how true it is (particularly for the bigger grounds) but I heard (or rather saw someone write) that with the new TV deal clubs could let fans in for free and still make more money than under the previous deal. According to one list of admission price changes the only team I saw reduce their season ticket prices was Newcastle, there were a few who froze prices, but the majority opted to increase at least some of them this season (including us). Prices in general are too high and local fans are being squeezed out.

Of course the fans are getting fleeced 60 notes to watch ONE league match is a fuckng joke IMHO i've paid less for all the recent finals of cup comps.

Prices should be capped by the league to max 25 and bring in terraces for a tenner a head,give us back OUR game.

This was always going to happen with FFP. The owners don't need the money, but the club does.

When it was mooted that the Premier League was being set up I remember Peter Swales saying it was a good thing as it would bring the price of the tickets down for the match-going fan. Turned out to be bollocks of course. It's a fucking disgrace that ticket prices go up after the wind-fall the clubs got from the last TV deal, but that's how it goes. As for the price of tickets for the visit from Liverpool, let's not forget that they are the reigning champions....

Would be quite hard for a family of 4 to justify attending a few games a season if the prices continue on this trend, they seem to be the main ones who suffer. The price for season ticket holders seems quite decent and the price for a one off match isn't that bad if you only doing it once or twice a year (ie day trippers like myself trying to get tickets for the Liverpool game!) considering the quality of football you get to see. The locals, especially families, who attend say 4-5 games a year would feel it most, it may be time for them to become good friends with a season ticket holder.

Don't know how much the price is a factor of it being first game of season vs the media darlings though.
