Okay, that was offside, but how natural is Jovetic's shot? Joy to watch.

TBF he wasn't the only mad buy that summer.

indeed. most were ridiculous, really.

meanwhile our reserves are humiliating milan.

pellegrini seems to me as a man management/attacking football genius. no joke.

Thing is, none of them are 'bad' players, Sinclair was doing quite well as the main man for Swansea, Rodwell was injured but prior to that was getting the usual 'next big thing' treatment from the English press. Garcia had made the Spanish national side and Nastasic has done reasonably well for a young defender since his arrival(no matter what his detractors will say on the matter). I think three of them can play a part in this squad given a good dose of the Pellers. (Guess who's not in the frame IMO)

I agree Slim. GUidetti was never good enough, though. I never did understand why he got such a rep on here.

Because people want a youth star and they will paper the cracks to get one. Nacho looks twice the player from what little he's done so far and I hope no-one is convinced on him just yet.

Nicely tracked there Gael.

You don't understand why people would want a home grown player to succeed rather than being pessimistic and slagging him off every time he had the ball? Strange.

Really enjoying this seeing city at last. Not our best team and the defense is a bit crap but isn't it great to see our b team performing against a top Italian club. Better than Macclesfield.brilliant.

That's not what I said at all. What I thought as weird was that so many on here thought Guidetti was the next big thing without having watched him play.
Yes, he scored a lot for Feyenoord, but he wasn't very dominant, and a lot of those goals were penalties. And the Dutch league is NOT a good test. ALvaro Alves anyone? He also did OK for a few games in the Swedish league, but give me a fucking break, That's like league one if not worse.
And he has't actully done that well in the EDS.

I would love forus to brring through some quality kids. I just never thought Johm would be one of them. ANd I think that people might have had too high hopes of him making it, because he was here too early. I seriously doubt that he would be talked about at all if he was a few years younger and had to compete with the talent that we now have, He simply isn't that good.

Indeed he was slow moving out from the right back position.

Very competent performance so far - loved Jovetic' performance - strength, desire and confidence. Navas looking really sharp, liked Fernando as well. Great finish from Sinclair.

Nasti all at sea at times and we've got to defend set pieces a lot better.

Overall though we've looked very comfortable in possession and sharp in the last third. Set pieces aside, we have had a good shape without the ball.
