In fairness the World Cup has really fucked up our pre season. To have Vinny MDM Zaba and Sagna missing until very late in the day has been pretty horrendous. It really has exposed our lack of decent centre backs as back up. If Mangala really is being unveiled tomorrow by god we need him. I'm not sure we shouldn't have gone for another centre back, maybe the Everton lad Stones. There's no one good enough in the EDS is there. Boyata is certainly no worse than Nastasic and he's better than Rekik but he's not good enough.

The defence has been poor but the midfield has been a joke, whenever Arsenal get the ball they can just run past into our final 1/3. A lot of players look like they can't be arsed today. Frustrating as fuck but I'll take the week of abuse if they play well and get 3 points next Sunday.

I can't believe we can't get a goal against their part-time defence.

We played two in central midfield and Yaya did fuck all off the ball. That left Fernando all at sea. Milner really should have played instead but maybe getting Yaya 45 minutes was worth it in Pellegrimi's view. Arsenal are much further forward in preparations for the season. We may need a couple of lucky 1-0s to get our season underway.

I don't understand why so many are taking any of this seriously. Nor why some are being so hyper critical. It is quite apparent that this is being dictated by the Sports Science lads and fitness levels of individual players.

We go hard and create injuries and everybody would be whingeing on here. Nastasic is 4th choice CD and Boyata is 5th. Yaya is on to have a jogalong.

FFS, this has come after the worst possible preseason, dictated by the World Cup. Sadly, it's a non fixture that we have to fulfill but one that we certainly don't need and probably don't want.

My sympathy to the travelling fans.

I think we have to trust the coaching staff on whomis ready to play and when. If Vinny or MDM did their hamstrings playing too early we really would have been fucked.

I know what you mean, mate, but to me it boils down to one question. Do I trust the backroom staff that won the Premier League and the League Cup last year to get it right? I think I do.

Waste of time, that. Pointless.

Not at all bothered by this game, was always going to come way to early for us. The late world cup final and the early start to the league (compared to other European leagues) can be dealt with in 2 ways. The first is to rush players back, like liverpool have done, and play our best team in all our friendlies and get the players up and going quickly for the start of the season, with the risk of burn out and injury later in the season. The second, which i think we are doing, is to give the players their break, gently get them back into training and get their fitness back.

I think pellers is aiming for us to be flying come feb, mar for a run at all comps. I do expect us to drop a few points early on but finish strong
