Vincent Kompany "couldn't care less" about Wayne Rooney captaincy
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has admitted that he "couldn't care less" about Wayne Rooney being appointed the new Manchester United captain.
New manager Louis van Gaal has handed the armband to the England international for the upcoming season following Nemanja Vidic's departure.
When asked by Sky Sports News to give his thoughts on the appointment, Kompany said: "Wayne has been at the club for a long time. Whatever has been happening for United at that time, he's always been at the centre of it.
"Most of the time they've won a lot except for last year obviously. I think having the best player as captain is never a bad choice, but at the same time, in all honesty I'm focused on Man City and to say in the softest way - I couldn't care less to be honest."
Kompany guided City to their second league title in three years last season under manager Manuel Pellegrini.

You can just imagine the media having a field day in re-interpreting and slanting this as a gross insult to both Shrek personally and the Scum overall.
The fact that he said "in the softest way" will be completely ignored......
.........or am I being paranoid ??

What knobhead of a Journo asks our Captain such a stupid question. He is too polite to laugh at him and walk away.

If Rooney and the press do take this as an affront, well quite frankly I couldn't care any less about that either.
The UK media may be obsessed with all things Stretford, but the rest of the football world that exists outside their vile domain simply don't give a shit.

Not being paranoid, it will be bandied about of course as disrespectful. In fairness I think it is meant to be a belittling comment, and I think Vinnie would have been fully aware of how it would be used. It's the best response to a stupid question, U*d, who cares!

Brilliant showing we don't share the press obsession with the rags, VK did really well there. What a stupid question to ask the city captain? They are an irrelevance and as we leave them further and further behind the journos will be like mad old people ranting on about the rags or the scouse remember the old days. Press can fuck off I hate then almost as much as the rags, scousepool and arse the red kitted teams in the premier league and their fans are pondlife. Glad I got that iff my chest,

Actually I find it quite interesting. He's their best player. But he might struggle with captaincy as I don't see him as a particularly sound character. if the going gets tough I can see it negatively affecting his form. That would be jolly nice.

As most have mentioned, what a ridiculous question to ask of the PL Champions Captain but only to be expected. The truth is, we don't give a fuck but the media do and to try and get a quote out of their Derby rivals that can be splashed all over the back pages is something they need to drive the clicks.
Pathetic fuckers and I think Vinnie was quite nice and articulate with his reply. What he as probably thinking was 'Fuck You! Next question.', just like we all would have.
What I'd like to know is why there's so much smoke being blown up the Rags arses, it's not as if they've done major business this season and apart from the easy start, they'll struggle to cope with the likes of Chelsea and us.

'Go fuck yourself you degenerate piece of dung' would have been my response. So great restraint shown by our captain.

Wonder if the same moronic journo will ask Shrek "so Shrek, as captain of the rags, how will you feel when City smash you in the league this year?"
