Luis Suarez' appeal findings are to be released in around 20 minutes and I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on this. From my pov I'd find it very fishy if he is allowed to play but am expecting a successful appeal nonetheless.

I agree but since his move to Barca things seem to have changed quite significantly. The powers that be even allowed a fast-track application to be approved.

I can see the International ban remaining but the domestic one being reduced to 10 weeks from 4 months

OR

Existing ban and Timeframe remains, but he will be allowed to train and do all the promotional work, attend matches etc

I'd be really suprised if it wasn't reduced, to be honest. They wanted to give him a heavy penalty during the world cup, but now that noone is paying attention anymore they might as well help out their buddies and let him off scot free instead.

EDIT - well seems the ban was upheld after all, good stuff.

It was always going to be an option, was always a bit silly saying he couldnt train or be in a stadium. Well done CAS for upholding the ban, it will be a tasty one for his first game.

Good call mate and a decent decision by CAS. When it happened I don't think anybody saw the need for the training ban and it seems they have now put that right.

Still can't believe that FIFA allowed a fast-track application though.

So reading this I guess that the CAS has shown backbone - well done. I was really expecting the outcome to be whatever 'more than a club' Barcelona asked for

On what grounds exactly was an appeal based? The fact that its Barcelona now and its just not fair?

They should have added an extra 2 months for a blatantly frivolous appeal and utter waste of time.

Given Barca currently have their transfer ban pending again - I believe it was temporarily lifted on appeal - the supposed Uefa banner club really is dredging through the shit these days, signing players like Suarez, concluding dodgy deals for Neymar with tax fraud stamped all over it, alongside their offences which brought the transfer ban in the first place.

However, whatever dodgy shite Barca and Real - who's front 6 plus its reserves cost about 10 Gazillion - do, its all OK because they are of course part of the cartel who got a 20 year head start, and now seek only to protect their own interests from those threatening them like us and PSG.

However I remain hopeful that the legal challenge to FFP by Dupont will once again bring it crashing down to earth and take all those corrupt nerks like Platini, Hoeness, Perez et al with it. This article below is worth a read - legal challenge is coming and Id wager FFP will fall. Then we can take the fuclers to the cleaners in court and get our money back plus interest, along with damages for restraint of trade. Twats. (climbs down off soapbox, adjusts tie, and walks away)

"I don't bite anymore"

Sorry Luis, we're not quite through with the jokes from the last time you bit someone for you to come out and make that sort of declaration. And when exactly have you had a chance to come to this conclusion? I assume you aren't going around biting your greengrocer and random children in the street, so now you're back in training do your Barca teammates have to be wary as you 'test' your new theory of not biting people?

Barcelona didn't appeal Suarez ban Uruguay did 7 days before he was sold by Liverpool. FIFA turned down the appeal so it went to CAS.

Suarez says he is seeing a professional for his biting. I think this is a good idea: some of his chomping has been rank amateurish stuff; I now expect a properly planned and monitored training system to get his biting up to the top level required at a club like Barca.

Can't believe people are on here saying that not letting him train and be at the stadium is absurd. You know what's absurd that a grown man who's paid millions bites people. He should have been given a life time ban as far as I am concerned. He's made mockery of himself, team and the game.

Nice post Goaters 103.

Shame they didn't extract Suarez's teeth with a pair of pliars, the piece of puke....

Barcelona claiming they paid £65m, not £75m for Suarez. Don't know there is such a veil of secrecy over transfer fees these days.

It offends me that this bloke is still playing football. Not purely because of the biting, but that added to all the other stuff he has done.

Imagine if he knocks us out of the Champions League during another display of pure evil ? Mind you, if he goes to Anfield & produces his full range of obnoxious shit, & puts them out, it will be almost worth seeing.

I had the sound down when the clip was shown of his introduction to Barca fans, but it looked to me that amongst the cheering mob, there were one or two with their arms folded. (Mind you there are normally loads whenever it shows City fans giving someone a 'warm reception' so perhaps they're just Spanish versions of the same miserable, half arsed, old cunts that we have).
