It does look like Chelsea and City fighting it out this season. I fancy we have more power than they do and just as much skill. Then you have the Arse then the dippers then Spurs then Everton. Did I miss someone?

Some of the burnley defending was quite poor. But Chelsea did play well.
There's a lot of football to be played yet. It's a brave man who would bet his house on a winner at this stage.

You think they would have been putting in a session at Carrington on a Sunday afternoon while everyone else was at Wembley?

I think they SHOULD have been.

I turned that match off at 3-1 because it was obviously going to be ten.

The fact that it isn't, suggests the same old Chelsea. That was THE worst spell of defending I've ever seen in the Prem, bar none. Even Burnley themselves & Blackpool (previous contenders) never had so many things wrong at once as that. I wouldn't even know where to start in dissecting that, but it would be close to impossible to find anything that anyone was doing that was actually right! Add to that the fact that they also seemed to bottle it completely as soon as Chelsea scored. The Championship teams we played last season defended 1000 times better than that, so perhaps they just shat themselves & all forgot what they were supposed to do.

For Burnley's sake, I hope that was a bad day at the office & not how they are going to be for the rest of the season, because someone is going to score ten goals v that team if they play like that. Not even necessarily a top 6 team, a Villa or Stoke could do it. You would at least expect Burnley to put pressure on the ball & challenge for headers rather than stand off. Absolutely appalling. And Ben Mee playing in the Prem is an insult.

Chelsea were good on the ball & responded well to going a goal down, with Fabregas's ball for the 2nd goal superb.

That said Burnley paid them way too much respect and seemed to freeze when they took the lead, as though it was something they hadn't planned for and didn't know how to react. No pressure on the ball at all, and their formation was all over the place so much that they had such a deep line they literally invited Chelsea into their box.

Agree on Ben Mee. Decent passer but absolutely Kernaghan like in the pace department - he will get torn a new aresehole this season if hes played at full-back. Trippier looks a better chance of raising his game at this level given but Burnley will need to get 25-30 points from their home fixtures to stay up.Lets hope they've wised up from last night as they face the shitbags next in 2 weeks.

The thing is with Ben Mee at City imo, he was ok on the ball, until the moment where he wasn't (as shown by his backpass yesterday), he was desperately slow & always diving into tackles (due his slowness or him actually giving the ball away & trying to recover it). If he won said tackles, people would be dead impressed & mention him for the first team ! He was also totally shit in the air, but his biggest weakness was that he is as thick as two short planks & couldn't spot anything around him.

I recon he demonstrated most of these skills yesterday.

Wenger's voice grates on my nerves - never had a problem with it before this season. I hope they get dumped out on their arse tonight.

Nearly forgot that it was time for Le Arse to kick the CL season off. Seems a little early for me.

Great win for Altetico. Not sure who gets sent off more, Simeone or Mourinho....

Also, Wolfsburg missed a tap in from <1ft to draw with Bayern. Tsk tsk
