Nasri should've played it across for Dzeko with his first touch

that one pass out of play was a head scratcher, especially compared to his earlier flick.

Silva has shown there that he is perfectly capable of breaking into the box and finishing calmly, do that about 15 more times this season and you'll be up there with anyone dave!

Three beauties in the same action! Why does the Silva gol mean only 1-0? This is like an El Greco's opera, not only a MCFC gol!

In an ideal world would like to see Zaba and Fenadinho get half an hour before the Liverpool match. Hasn't quite worked for Jovetic but there's a lot of potential there.

Even though we look well off the pace and although the Toon have had equal possession, we've had every chance and they've had fuck all. Has Joe had to make a save yet?

Champs look scarily better than everyone else. Obviously full of cobwebs & rust but probably should he 3 or 4 up already with the early chance of Dzeko the wasted opportunity from Nasri & Kolarov stopping Jovetic from killing Newcastle off at half time.

Still dangerous as Newcastle are grafting & we have a mistake in us, but anyone who thinks we will be weaker this season, whatever the result here, is dreaming.

Even the most wildly optimistic Chelsea supporting pundit would have to be crazy to think we are anything other than stronger than in our TITLE WINNING last season. We've strengthened every area except wide attack unless you call a fit Jovetic a wide player as well as striker/supporting striker. Anyone predicting we finish anywhere other than top two should resign and retire from punditry for good.

I thought we created several chances but just seen the half time highlights & we didn't get a kick apart from the goal, I'll have to sharpen up.

That's what I thought. What I don't get is why the pundits are saying anything other and praising Newcastle just for keeping hold of the ball. It's not all even if one team is getting chances when the other isn't. Newcastle deserve to be nil because they've had fuck all on target and if I'm not mistaken, being on target gives you a chance to win games.
Anyway, more of the same in the 2nd half, I'm not greedy, just want to get off to a win and the papers can all say how unlucky Newcastle were at home.

Fingers crossed.

Bein sport is more bearable apart from that smug git that presents it (and Pleat fucling up his co-commentary role) - Keegan is a studio pundit.

You'd never guess would you! And all the talk at half-time is on how well the Toon did. Personally I didn't see anything going forward but eh, we might both be blind.

In fairness Clichy's done ok much better than last Sunday. Fernando's grown into the game too. Only 0-1 full concentration needed and another popped in. Job done.
