I might be going against the general consensus, but I'm quite glad Pellegrini is not reining in his attacking philosophy, but sticking to his preferred formation and playing two up front (wish it could be three).

Perhaps it's naive, but we shouldn't be worrying overmuch about other teams, but let them do the worrying about us. I always prefer a strong attack to a strong defence.

If, in doing this, we periodically 'come a cropper' then so be it; at least Pellegrini will have stood by his principles and continued to entertain people.

Anyway, these are just my own thoughts, for what they're worth.

Not pleased with Manuel's stubbornness. Although, hopefully CSKA aren't good enough to make us pay for it.

Glad that Milner is starting though

I agree, sometimes pragmatism is called for but what I've seen suggested on here ie Fernando, Fernandinho and Yaya is nonsensical imo. If we play that way then Yaya occupies the space where Silva thrives, so we're effectively taking our best attacking player out of the game and shunting him wide, either that or you'll have Yaya and Silva tripping over each other.

Besides, moving Yaya forward stunts his ability to conduct things, he sets our pace being the conduit from defence to attack. It's ok later on in games when the play is stretched but playing him forward from the start nullifies his biggest asset which is dictating and controlling a game.

What people are calling for is more or less what Mancini did in the FA Cup winning season, just replace De Jong and Barry with the two Ferns.

Time to kick start the champions league campaign tonight.Need 6 points from the cska games to give ourselves a chance in this group. Not sure about the choice of fernando over Fernandinho tonight. No qualms about two up top tonight we need a win.Think we need to be careful to watch Musa's pace on the counter attack he's rapid.

Crikey Steve, that almost sounds like some form of (Cold War) coded message; something along the lines of telling the team to attack CSKA fast and hard from the first whistle.

On that basis, a like reply to yourself might be "when the yellow canary sings his song, don't forget to whistle the chorus"............

.....Phew, this Bletchley Park style communication mode is as easy as falling off a log isn't it ??.........

I wonder if any City fans traveled to Moscow and "pulled a Bayern" and rented out the floor of that office building that overlooks the stadium

It's really weird watching a game without a proper atmosphere.

Good try by Zaba. Across the goalie would have scored but it was on his wrong foot.

Why were some supporters allowed in? They're making some noise for such a tiny group.
