Would be nice to see some of them on the pitch or why not all... but as long as we get 3 points in the bag I don't mind.

anybody remember the keeper Karius? he's the current Mainz keeper and apparently used to be a City youth player. he's been great in this match and is being touted as the successor to Neuer for the national squad. already he's one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga.

I recognise the name, I never saw him in a game though.

Interesting the thread was started eighteen months ago and since then we have seen precious little of them. Hope Peps arrival changes that

I vaguely remember a good few years back we signed supposedly an absolutely top notch German youth keeper. I do recall a few times wondering what happened to him......maybe one that got away?

Wasn't it Edge that started a thread about him? Someone did.

Are you sure about that? He's never been called into the national team and has 1 cap at each level in the younger age groups. There are 3 or 4 other keepers around his age that are getting called into the team regularly.

The problem with our model and Chelsea's to an extent is there is no long term planning. So how is the manager going to gradually introduce youth when he has been given a results driven agenda.

Chelsea's is 100% different than ours.

Chelsea's is....to collect assets that have some upside and sell on value and drive those sales early and often. They are running a fucking transfer marketplace.

We have an academy of kids....covered in cobwebs. And some mildly shit first team buys that have little to no impact.

Same fucking result tho at the end for both clubs.

cheers

Anyone know anything about NAC Breda?
Are our kids even getting valuable experience there? Arent they a lower league Dutch side?

Second division Dutch side. How good can they be? Lower league one I shouldn't wonder

I don't get why we're sending players there.

At least Vitesse Arnhem are in the Ditch first division, right?

Just missed out of promotion last year - well supported for a tier two side, and Unal enjoyed the home games there last season. They appreciate talent so should get behind our lads as long as they perform.

Just guessing here but perhaps there's common ground in terms of style of play so we see it as beneficial to our players development that they're getting coached in the right way whilst getting experience at senior level.

And the Dutch second division is probably not worse than say the Spanish second division. At least not by much.I would guess anyway, perhaps Nool has a more informed opinion though.
