City will be up for the game too.

Both teams defending like school kids. Should be a cracker.

Can it get much worse? (Don't answer that)

Mind you they'll be coming into it expecting more than what they would have a few short weeks ago so it may work in our favour in that respect.

Time for this under-performing shower to step up to the plate

Even when we were shit and they were winning the league every season, I always felt a slight hint of optimism before derby day.

Now I don't whatsoever. I'm very, very scared

I think we will spank them, form goes out the window in derby matches. The same group of City players have showed they have more fight than utd the past few seasons and will do so again on Sunday.

If we fuck up here, not only would it more or less end our season....it could kickstart theirs and before you know it, they are back where they 'belong' and we are the noisy neighbours again. Van Ghoul would be labelled a genius, they'll get back in the chumps league and spend a shit load more money on bringing in players. It doesn't bear thinking about

Its a derby anything can happen. Lets hope our defending much better than it has been for most of the season so far.
Overall think we will up the performance and get a win.

The back four will be an interesting choice. I'm hoping for Zaba VK MDM kola. We need Yaya at his best to have a chance and Silva to be fit.

Ridiculous stat regarding our defence I heard last night: Newcastle have more clean sheets than us. This was even before they spanked us.

In the Premier League, Newcastle have let in 15 goals, City 10, one more than Chelsea & have the 3rd best record in the league.

Utd have let in 13.

Imagine if we actually started defending properly ?

Fair play. Do you know how many we let in with Kompany and Demichelis vs. Kompany and Mangala?

VK and MD = 5 goals in 6 games
VK and EM = 5 goals in 4 games

I am assuming Silva will be out injured on Sunday and judging by Nasri last night, it is clear the last 20 mins in a derby game would be better for him than starting him.

The side I would go for in a 4-5-1 formation.

-------------------------Hart

Zabaleta----Kompany---MDM----Kolarov

Milner-----Fernando--Toure--Fernandinho--Jovetic

--------------------------Aguero

Never look forward to derby day, but Sunday we need 3 points and a performance. Get it and things may pick up, but another performance like the last few and we'll lose and I can see the fans turning nasty.

With our defence combined with the fact they have the likes of Di Maria and Falcao (is he fit?) means that to win, it looks like we're gonna have to outscore them (Smartarses- you know what I mean). Which will ultimately make for a very exciting but very nervy game!

Thats the side that should play if silva is indeed out. But MP will play Mangala, and probably stick two up again.

I would go with that to, Definately no Dzecko as he has been pants yet again at a start of a season

If we looking at being a bit more defensive with good flank options, a possible option from that is to bench Jovetic, put jimmy jaws on the left ahead of kolarov
Sagna at Right back as his defending is actuallly quite good with Zabs infront of him

That would leave a good attacking bench for changes later in the game
