I would not risk Komps and Silva in this one, Fern and Jovetic yes.

I remember when Vinnie was injured and then, after one training, we sent him out to play on Klanfield in april. We all remember what happend then, all their goals were his fault.

I would stick with Demi and Mangala. They can handle Totti and Destro.

I think as long as Navas plays to counteract Gervinho's pace, I will watch a little easier

Jovetic MUST start Ferna aswell the others i'd put on the bench.

We need a FIT Silva and Komps for the xmas period more than the chumps league.

Would be worried about using/risking vinny and big dave for this one, but its a big game and risks might be taken with this one.

Fernandinho and Jovetic should be perfectly match fit and should definitely start. Doug reported yesterday that Silva was training one on one with a physio and he can't possibly be match fit. If he makes the bench I can't think he'll get more than 10 minutes. Vinny is probably nearer match fitness but probably will start on the bench and maybe get half an hour at most.

Silva & Vince seemed to be doing exactly the same training as everyone else on Sky just then, as was Nastasic.

The lesser-spotted Nastasic? Wow.

How long is it since Silva played a match though Ted? He can't realistically be match fit. If this is his first training with the group since getting injured it hardly suggests he's ready to start. Doug clearly said he saw him yesterday training one one with a physio. I can't remember how long Vinny's been out but he'll have lost less fitness than Silva.

The only 'consolation', if it could be described that way, from Merlin being out through injury is that he's had an enforced break from football.

When he's back to full fitness, provided we don't rush him back too soon, he could be somehow refreshed (once again, if that's how it could be described) both mentally as well as physically and he might quickly be firing again on all cylinders.

This might stand us in good stead in the second half of the season.

I would go with this but play Navas instead of Dzeko to start. Jojo up top with Sami behind. Gives us a five man midfield to start, and hopefully get some control of the game.

Doug isn't the oracle me old china.............seeing one player for a nanno second isn't being on the training ground every minute of the day.

People should stop hanging onto his every word regarding training as an indicator of what's going to happen(No offence pops) as it rarely is what happens.

I hope silva plays at least half of the match depending how we are doing.

How could you doubt Doug? I'm shocked! Obviously I'll be delighted if we get 45 minutes out of Merlin safely. I wouldn't want to risk a setback though.

How could I doubt someone that had a glimpse of a player playing one on one and then came to the conclusion that he wasn't likely to play any part of tomorrows match?????

Do you really want me to answer again?

We will soon find put tomorrow , but as Ted said , Silva was training the same as other players were today.

I think we honestly need Silva tomorrow - our scoring opportunities go up a huge notch.

Silva Id risk, Kompany on hamstring strain I wouldn't unless its healed which I doubt it will have in 11 days.

Jovetic had a dead leg so he can suck it up and get on with it. Fernandinho isn't injured supposedly. Lampard has to play.

Hart

Zab
Kompany or Mangala
Demichelis
Clichy

Fernandinho
Fernando

Milner
Lampard
Silva

Jovetic
