There has been all sorts of shit going down behind the scenes there, well done to him for sticking with them through all the shit. they are a clear second in the league and have every chance of catching Hearts, so I dont think it will be pressure in the football sense.

It has been a pantomime there for quite some time now, I am looking forward to their promotion to the SPL where they say no we dont want it, fuck you and your premier league......thats what they said they were going to do wasnt it?

I'm not sure if I do to be fair but it just seemed weird that he did a presser yesterday and everything was rosey. 24 hrs later, he's stuck in his notice.

Ally or Salary McCoist has played an absolute blinder here.

He took his cheeky chappy housewifes favourite TV persona and his legions of beloved pet journalists in Scotland and managed to convince thousands of gulliable Rangers fans that successive business men who were in charge of the new Rangers, were doing so in the best interests of the club.

While Ally was feeding this suculent lamb to the media, he was also picking up share options, increased salary, hidden clauses such as this bad boy whilst three different boards stripped this dying corpse of a club to line their own pockets. Very rarely did Ally ever highlight any wrong doing going on above him.

On the pitch, any punter could have taken them from the Scottish third to Scottish Championship. They have continued to have a budget that was the 2nd highest in the country and could pick up any player who was not destined for England from the SPL. I believe their 2nd choice goalkeeper was on seven grand a week last season. This season they added Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd on even bigger money and should be going through this league without defeat but are nine points behind a Hearts side which is entirely home grown. McCoists salary alone in the past three years invested in any Scottish 3rd division team should be enough to take them to successive league titles and into the SPL.

McCoist has shown himself to be a much better business man than football manager but for those of us who have rather enjoyed the spectacle of the old club dying then the new club being a complete circus we salute the role Ally has played in this non stop source of amusement. If it was not for the way Hearts went into admin and they way they have conducted themselves on and off the pitch he would have probably have gotten away with it.

All have played ten games or more this season, except Pallardó, who has only played six.

You could work for the mirror.

Agreed. Was tempted to respond initially but this has done it for me quite well - you let the mask slip a bit there Ross.

Ally has been canny but theres a hell of a lot more to this than the character assassination job in your post.

Have you heard the issue about Ally secretary getting the push and zero pay-off from the club, having worked there for 43 years? That's just one of the many subplots in play here, along with Ashley and his cronies as well. The whole place is a shambles truth be told.

I know you kinda follow this shambles of a club, is there a less biased opinion of what's actually going on that a lay person could actually have a read of, as it all sounds very intriguing. I think I read a blog going over the whole sorry story upto the formation of the new club and early days in division 3, but not sure I've read anything that brings the story upto date.

John - Yes I am a follower as I have a Scottish grandparent who passed down the allegiance. When I began following them in the early 80s they were crap, and have gone full circle back to crap again.

For a daily take on whats going on I glance at this

http://therangersreport.com

It isnt impartial but also doesn't spare the blushes on criticising the club either. All the stories/rumours are there, good and bad.

As for a more general perspective, Im sure theres one out there. If I stumble on it Ill let you know. Despite starting again as a Newco the club remains a shamble full of sharks and shitbags at board level Im afraid. Granted many will take pleasure in that Im sure, but despite 2 promotions, this season is as bad as its been since the club bankrupted in 2012. You also have Craig Whyte's trial upcoming too, so that should lift the lid on even more shady goings on - assuming he makes it to trial.

Thanks, I'm genuinely interested, always had an interest in rangers mainly because half the England team from my younger days played for them in the late 80s and early 90s.

I'm gutted, mainly for the honest fans, whom of course we can relate to having been shockingly run for much of our lifetimes, but I remember reading about all the stuff upto the div 3 days and wondering how the hell did it ever end up like that, and each successive year seems to drag out an even dodgier owner/chairman

Would love to see them back where they belong, but in view of their recent past and the fraud that clearly can be committed when you are custodian of the brand name, I wonder shouldn't the courts intervene (in the public interest) and turn over the club to a fans trust?

That rangers report website is a good read, and it seems clear mccoist is just a picker of teams. Theyve been found out...
Bilel Mohsni gets slated on there, but Ive met the bloke, and as well as being a nice guy, he isnt a centre half, told me himself...hes a big lad...but at that level you want him going forwards because he'll be effective. I know this, maybe ally can slip me a few quid from his next, increased, pay cheque for this nugget of insight
