That's an absolutely brilliant victory, courtesy of the less fashionable players, Mangala, Clichy etc. Great effort from Fernando.

The so called creative players were a bag of shit.

he's a fine player but Sagna really is a downgrade from Zaba. its startling, especially since he put in some good performances at Arsenal

I don't think we did that bad. Decent effort from a team that probably was a bit hungover from Rome. Yey.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

One man team my ass , 3 pts in bag with 18 year old striker.

We played late into the night on Wednesday trained in Italy Thursday morn flew back in the afternoon then fucked off to Leicester the next day we passed it around in the first half then realised it wasnt sticking up top, the busy week caught up and bang a scrappy game.

Ahh well we won im off to drink some baileys.

If Zabba had played, Lecester would have scored from that cross near the end. Absoutley exceptional defending.

Thank fuck for that. Jovetic has to be told to play next week unless he's got a bloody good excuse. I just hope Dzeko isn't seriously injured. Playing Pozo off the last man simply didn't work today and won't next week or any week. Jovetic won't like being a lone spearhead either but he'll bring more to the team.

Silva Yaya & VK were some of the worst culprits for wasting the ball.

We need to get the work permit sorted for Kelechi .

A champion's victory I would say. After such a big big match on wednesday this one stood out as a banana skin and to go into it without a proper striker as well. I thought the whole of the defensive unit did well and very much included in that is Fernando, my MotM, and Yaya.

Did Joe make a save?

Looking at the starting line up you would have put your money on Frank to score a winner if we got one and there he is again. Great shame for Vinnie but like others I think he shouldn't have played today. Yes if we really needed him and showing defensive frailties but we are not. Mangala is getting it together and MDM is just quality. With Clichy playing well and Sagna proving a good replacement for Zaba and we were quite solid.

The only scary stuff is we gave too many free kicks away to give them a chance.

Yeah tbf, I'm slagging Yaya for some of his losing possession but he did win a fair few headers etc at the back (which he never used to do).

+1 but let's not expect too much from him too fast. He doesn't want to play up front on his own either. We needed midfielders who would get past Pozo and give him support. Instead we were shiter than shite in midfield with due recognition to Frank for his goal and Fernando for his defending. Silva had been out for a long time and Nasri played a very intense game on Wednesday. What was Yaya's excuse?

Congratulations to the defence for helping us grind out a win. At the end of the day that's what matters. No mid week CL games till February.

glad that's over, no complaints from me ... was always going to be a tough game and we have to be very careful injuries coming up. Not pleased about Kompany, Pozo is not a lone striker ... that's a shit assignment to give him, but he ran his ass off and tried to get involved in his way. We aren't set up to play with a player like him alone up top. The run out will have done him good, and I think he'll have learned a lot about prem defenses.

That's the liveliest I've seen Yaya look all season from a workrate point of view. I really think he should be played once a week now.
