Yes others are inportant, but until they change the rules the way you win games is sticking that ball inside that net. Simple.
Do you not think that's an over simplistification?
If you have a team where you deserved to lose at least 4 or 5 out of your last 7 games, but have won 6 and drawn 1 almost exclusively because of the performances of your goalkeeper, and utter dross defending from the opposition, (eg no talent required to score the goals) surely goalkeepers also win you games?
I'm in the "strikers Union" camp here with PBL and I do like a bit of over-simplification, now and then.
If you haven't got forwards to score your goals, all that a great 'keeper, or defence for that matter, will give you is the one point per game you kicked off with, when you can only draw it.
In my 'jaundiced' opinion, for what it's worth, a side can always get by with an indifferent, patched up defence and a pretty average 'keeper, if you've got a great attack to carry away all before you. It's goal scorers that win matches.
With regard to De Gea, however, I don't think he's even the best goalkeeper in the League; I much prefer Curtois.
