Got myself in a disagreement with a Mackem. He said they sold out today but it looked like Blues on the top tier. Don't want to make a berk of myself.

Top tier was City and and there was a block of seats in the bottom tier that were empty - about 50 seats

I would guess at about 1800-1900 travelling fans today, nowhere near sold out.

He's talking out of his arse. They didn't even sell out the bottom tier. Was pretty funny when they equalised at 2-2 and started singing "That's why we're Sunderland' only to concede the 3rd a few minutes later and we sang back 'That's why you're Sunderland'

I know. I remember when they brought approx 10,000 to the last game of 90/91 when we beat them to send them down and finish above rags. Maybe the trains were poor and it isn't the moat prosperous region of Britain. Perhaps having a lot of games crammed in isn't as good an idea as it can put off the punter?

Plus they had Villa away last game so might have thought that would be the better bet on which to spend their money.
