*** City v Sheffield Wed - FA Cup Match Thread ***

Already out of one domestic cup and this one we got out of stupidly at home in QF last season, so I think Pellegrini will take this no other way but seriously ...

Players need to watch against complacency, no taking them lightly, no taking it to any replays ... another 7-0 will do it, and preferably start scoring in the first half itself ...

Here's how I think we'll line up:

Willy
Sagna - Demi - Boyata - Kola
Yaya - Fernando
Nasri - Jovetic - Milner
Pozo

C'mon City!

I'd normally suggest that we played a 2nd string here as our priorities are the Prem & Champions League but after looking at our fixtures & dates I don't think the FA Cup will impact on us as much as I thought it would.

Go for it Pellers, we love the FA Cup.

Nice bright day in Manchester, cold, clear and sunny - I feel that sunshine always bodes well for us, although it will be nearly dark by half-time, and there should be no travel problems for the 6000 Yorkies coming over the Pennines. 4-0 for me.

We should tank this lot again if we can just get the first to open them up and there may well be surprises in the selection because there's not a lot of pressure to rest players with a week until the next game and we could perhaps see players returning from injury getting some pitch time in as well as a few youngsters.
I'm wondering who we'll have in net as it's custom & practice to play our understudy keeper in games like this and, what with Hart being dropped yet again for his constant calamities, that would mean that Hart would get the start. My thought is that today might be different though as Pellegrini could want Cabellero back between the sticks at short notice as extra game time pre the tough games he should play in against Everton, the Arse and Chelsea.

Any views?

PS. Also Thought it might be good to hear from foreverUpJoesArse to get a spermy perspective.

Don't think it is ... unless one of the Middle Eastern TV companies has it on one of their 10-12 channels ... Bien or Abu Dhabi might have it.

Willy is in goal, Pellegrini said earlier in the season that he likes to give a few games back to back to his goal keepers and that's why Willy got a few around the capital one cup games and again on New Years Pellegrini reiterated that because of busy schedule he thought he'd give Willy Sunderland game and then the FA cup game together before Hart comes back in at Everton.

There should be a 4th round FA Cup tie in between Arsenal home and Chelsea away, would be interesting to see if Pellegrini sticks to his back-to-back games for Willy then or just picks him for the one off FA 4th round game (also depending on who we draw, as a big PL team away might see Hart keeping intact).

BT Sports 1 is showing Scum though, if you've been following them instead?

Ahhh, I'm over in Germany now and got it on a local network. Said it was part of the BT Sport commentary but must've been updated wrong.

Follow the Scum? Even the thought or insinuation of it. Pfffft!

That's what mine must be as it follows straight after the Dover game.

I find it a bit depressing that there is only one kid involved (Celina on the bench - who probably won't get on) against Sheffield Wednesday. Most of my excitement for the game was based around the idea of some of the EDS lads being involved. Gutted.

You think we can't win if we have 3 EDS players in the squad? These kids DO deserve chances as they've been bloody excellent.
