Milner

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Gave it his all whilst here. Cannot complain about his attitude one bit or his effort. There has been plenty of teeth gnashing over attitude and effort from certain players this year. His quality is not as a regular starter but more as a back up and if he feels that at this point in his career and life he wants more game time at the expense of salary or trophies, then i respect his choice to leave. Just a shame it's to the dippers, who I loath with a passion.

I think the idea that he has a clue of who we will bring in during the summer, and as a result his playing time diminishing, is an interesting one which probably has a big element of truth to it

Would I have liked him too stay, yes. Am I overly bothered he's gone, no. He is a very clever self publicist as he is now moving to his 5th club with no doubt another big signing on fee, but because he "put in a shift" he will never be labelled as a bit of a money chasing mercenary, which he so obviously is.

Im sure if it was just money we would of won that battle.

Read this.

Sorry to see Milner leave but let's get some facts about his departure. Firstly Milner was offered a 3 year deal by City worth 'up to' 165k a week. That's not 165k basic, more like 125k basic plus bonus, which is in line with most of the City team. Even if he realised his 165k every week that's about 26 million over 3 years, if he's signed a 4 year deal at Anfield at 120k a week, that's about 25 million over a 4 year period. Plus of course, Milner will be receiving a substantial signing on fee from Liverpool which will probably take his contract upwards of 30 million. But hey, it's not about the money for James, it's about forming a midfield trio of Henderson, Milner and Allen, scary!

Fucking hell, thats not even a direct quote or link, its just made up shit

He also got a five year contract with the dippers. Don't think he would've got more than three with us.

Milner cost us £16m plus Stephen Ireland, so in essence he cost us 16m (cos Ireland is dogshit). Although, wasn't Ireland on £50k a week as well?

That's really weird because i saw you as the antithesis of Milner's mouthpiece on here.

Slack jawed etc. Always getting on his case.

I mean, will you return as Isco's disco ... ? Or something like that.

James?

Can't you change his name to 'Poor James Milner'?

16 mil for 2 Prem League titles?

Cheap at twice the price ;-)

Spot on. I have been surprised by the down beat nature of his move to the dippers. If it had been a free the other way we would have had headlines like "Milner in £30m deal to city" despite the free transfer. No mention of his £6.5m signing on fee or his £7.5m per annum four year deal anywhere. I have no problem with Milner at all, but the media....

We'd be a technically better team that's for sure. A bit brokedick and total jackoff for my liking, but hey..

Jack Wilshire would be more likely to sit in Jack Rodwell's place, not Milner's.
