But we're 1-0 up instead. Great strike from Byrne.

Great goal by Byrne. City were starting to find their feet for the last five minutes. Strating to pass it around.
Looking at the replay...maybe the keeper could have done better, but it was a good shot.

Great work on the counter from Pozo and Barker, he really rattled the woodwork. It would have been a fantastic goal.

Barker hits the post - nice counter attack. (He hit that almost as hard as Yaya by the looks of it)

I think he's on the bench. I'm not sure as they didn't mention the subs when giving the line-ups.

I'll see if I can confirm.

On the bench according to twitter.

Germans are well organised & strong but it wouldn't be a problem if City passed the ball as they can do. Byrne & Ntcham are not reacting quickly enough to the loose ball either. Kean Bryan doing a great job making up for it. Really clever stuff from Smith Brown dropping inside but we miss Maffeo so much on the right side. It means the left gets closed down & Ambrose gets crushed out of it.

Took City far to long to get into that game but once they did, they look like they have grown in confidence. Looking at the goal again, it came at a great time, when Schalke had looked the better side, but the keeper really should have put it over the bar.

City are miles off it today. Look nervous. If they get their shit together they will tear these apart. The well organised athletic teams are our Achilles heel though I think. Glad Liverpool are out because they fall into that catagory.

Liverpool beaten 2-1 by Benfica. Arsenal are out also. City are the only English team left, at the moment.

Oh my gawd they've got archery on Eurosport - I love it SOOOO much (and this is not a pisstake or windup). Even better would be clout shooting, good old medieval military archery practice.

I see you more as a person with an apple on his head for some reason. I'm a good shot, honestly.
