2 crackers coming up this weekend.First the scum academy side away on Saturday morning and followed by the EDS game against Schalke on the Sunday at 12.

The youth cup against Coventry shows we have a bunch of players still eligible for the academy side who won't play v Utd which means a great opportunity for the younger under 18's side to show what they are all about. can't wait for these 2 games.

I watched the highlights of that cup game against Coventry. Christ, their quick passing and awareness are superb (not to mention how hard they seem to work for each other). Are all our youth teams of a similar quality?

Yes they are ^

We've got an outstanding youth set up well worth following. I find the youth team stuff nearly as exciting as the first team these days weirdly

I'm going to have to get off my lazy arse and watch a couple of these games before the end of the season.

Yes it is open but to get into the swamp training ground you have to get through the barrier at the end of a long single file road.I only mention that as it can take a while to get through and the odd queue might be likely.I am sure it will be well worth watching.

I would second that. Our 18's team , especially without the lads who play at higher age groups (Maffeo,Angelino,Barker,Pozo , Bryan, Celina) is still a quality side.

Currently deciding whether i'm brave enough to stand in a no doubt absolutely freezing cold field at Carrington tomorrow morning to watch the u18s mini-derby.

Defo off to the one on Sunday though

What's the reasoning for this? Don't we play them again in the Youth Champs' League next month?

It's the EDS team which plays Shalke on Sunday. This competition is the U21 Premier League International Cup:

I think all the games are played over here, because it's not sanctioned as a UEFA tournament.

The other European competition, where we beat Bayern etc is the U19 Uefa Youth League:

Was gonna go along to the u18s derby this morning but sadly i'm bottling it as my old man isn't up for standing in the field freezing his derriere off and i cannot be bothered going on my own. So i've found a stream.

MUTV though... eugh.

If anyone fancies watching it though there ya go ^

Cheers.

I was going to have a healthy morning & cycle there, but the gallon of red wine from last night seems to have ruled that out, so I'll do absolutely nothing instead.
