On Friday at 19:00 the u23s play at the Minihad. If City win, United are effectively relegated to Premier League 2 Division Two, barring a couple of massive losses by Derby to throw away the +7 goal difference and more goals scored that they currently enjoy over United:

United currently enjoy a massive points lead at the top of the league but City have games in hand and if City win their remaining four games and United lose their two then it will come down to goal difference for top spot. United are currently +11 ahead on goal difference but City have won their last two games by five goals and a win on Saturday will of course narrow the goal difference even more, as well as the points difference:

Going to both those games and sort of looking forward to them. The EDS one on Friday hopefully will get a good attendance and we can do the job this time and put them away. Strange how last season their EDS side was good and the 18's rubbish but this time it's the other way around. They have, like City , pushed a lot of players up the age groups so a struggle isn't a surprise but relegated would be. Our own EDS have suffered this season with constant changes, players playing way above their age level and I believe having Simon Davies in charge. But when they have their best team out they are a match for anyone and I expect a strong team on Friday.
The 18's also have had to manage with many players playing up the age level and I did expect a struggle but they got off to a very good start only to hit the buffers half way though and having a horrendous run. Some of the games I have seen though against so called weaker opposition have been really really hard.
The last 2 games have seen big wins so we can be reasonably optimistic about what's left. I went to Blackburn yesterday and it was a comprehensive win against a poor side. The Everton one was the same. I havent seen a worse Everton youth side that I can recall. They had some enormous guys in the team but as a team couldnt defend.
Strange at Blackburn yesterday as I chatted to 2 scum fans who had gone to watch hoping City would lose meaning they would win the league!! Their last 2 games are against City and Liverpool and they are seriously worried they will lose both, City will win all 4 and they will lose the league. How good would that be!
Can't see it myself as City do look a tiny bit flakey defensively but they are decent to watch.
