City 6th Richest Club in the World (Based on Revenue).

This was posted on Bluemoon by Cobwebcat. It show that City is the 6th richest club in the world based purely on revenue. Looking at the rags and taking into account they'll be at least £50 million worse off this season than last, and that our revenue streams are growing apace, we could certainly overtake them this season, if only temporarily. We've come quite a distance both on and off the pitch in the last 6 years.

To be fair to myself I looked back over three pages and couldn't find an appropriate thread.

Well it was two months ago, no wonder the DM and BM are just getting wind of it.

The old thread just discusses City's numbers, but the latest Deloitte Football Money League is out now:

Always an interesting read.

The key thing for me is how far ahead we are in terms of revenue over so many of the clubs who wanted FFP introduced. We've got ourselves into a position where we our revenue will allow us to maintain a sustainable business and compete at the top level.

We have reached a happy situation where FFP helps us. And if it is scrapped its fine too.
The one thing that worries me is what a new version of it might look like. It might have a 'sky blue shirt' clause or a 'clubs actually from Manchester' exclusion

Interesting how poorly the Spanish clubs performed that year. Barca down and Real only up 15 million. We made a small dent in the gap with United and have no debt interest to pay of course.

I imagine if you brought it out now, we would be closer still to Utd, but they are about to get anything upto 75 mil better off, so we need to pull something out of the bag in the near future.

But all of our major deals are undervalued now, so we may be due an increase across the board, without any new stuff.

We're supposed to be re-negotiating the Nike deal at the moment. And the full impact of the Etihad campus deal has yet to be revealed. It might take an official noodle sponsor to push us ahead of them, however.

Brilliant news. We can renegotiate some of our sponsorship deals and the ground capacity is to be increased too. Well done our owners and strategy men and women.

Qatar tourist authority mainly but they do have strong commercial income. Bit of a monopoly in France really.

How do you rub a hand with a Scrooge type face ?? That's got me a bit puzzled Beefy..........

However, on the money front, we've still got a way to go but it's interesting to see how Loserpool and Whinger's mob are starting to fall far behind us.

Tottingham, moreover, are relatively impoverished.

Interestingly, I haven't seen a single person wearing a PSG shirt since I arrived in Qatar 3 months ago. The public here really don't seem all that arsed, and the sports shops here don't even stock the shirts, it's Barca, Real, United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool in that order as you walk into all the sports shops in the Middle East now.

Although there is a PSG shop in the Villaggio Mall, perhaps they have a turnover of £300m from that alone? Although I've never seen a soul in there.

Elsewhere, Manchester City showed the largest absolute increase of any top 10 club, with improved commercial deals contributing to their maintenance of sixth position.

Manchester City maintained their sixth place position in the 2015 Money League recording record revenue of £346.5m (€414.4m), a 28% increase on the previous year. This is the largest percentage increase of any club in the Money League top 10 and cements City’s place as the second highest placed English club.

we really do have arguably the best management in the sport, considering where we have come from. all whilst facing ffp penalties that surely undermined our capacity to move up.

fantastic news really.
