Youth Cup V Stoke

A win is a win but it should have been more than 1 nil. Wait till you see the goal though as it oozed quality from Celina and a gem of a little pass from Boadu. Stoke were just a strongish looking team with not that much attacking threat. We nearly gave them a goal in the first half with some faffing about and one other dangerous attack ended with an offside but we could have had a load.
The lack of a regular striker made it hard for us with Boadu asked to play the lone role.To be fair to him I thought he had a top game and held the ball really under loads of pressure and his clever passing was excellent at times, not least for that goal.Barker threatened a number of times without quite finding a man for the goal but how one cross/pass/shot didn't go in was a surprise.
Nemane on the other wing didn't carry quite the same threat but still got to the byline a few times after beating his man.Again not quite the perfect end product although Boadu did blaze one good chance over. Bryan was solid anchoring the midfield. Celina showed some great touches although I felt he needed to get more involved after half an hour's play. he did that brilliantly with the goal.
Adarabioyo looked very good and composed yet again. Angelino made some great attacking breaks again without the ideal end product. Maffeo was good after I thought a dodgy early spell and Marcus Wood impressed me when he came on for about 20 minutes when Kongolo went off.
