Roy Keane's foul-mouthed rant at reporter, hours after alleged road rage clash

The former United captain was earlier said to have jumped out of his Range Rover at traffic lights in Altrincham and ranted at a taxi driver

Roy Keane launched a foul-mouthed tirade at a reporter just a few hours after his alleged road rage bust-up.

He urged a journalist to ‘get the f*** away from me now’.

Earlier, the former United captain is said to have jumped out of his Range Rover at traffic lights and ranted at a taxi driver who moments before had urged him to ‘smile’.

Police are investigating.

When the MEN’s sister paper The Mirror sent a reporter to Keane’s home in Bowdon to ask about the incident, he answered: “What are you talking about?”

He added: “What are you saying? Believe what you want. I can tell what you want from me, you just want a quote.

“Now get the f*** away from me. Get the f*** away from me, now.”

Taxi driver Fateh Kerar, 44, believes the former United captain turned nasty after the taxi driver told him to ‘smile’ as they sat in parked cars in leafy Hale just before noon today (Friday).

A few minutes later, Fateh says Keane jumped out of his Range Rover at traffic lights in Altrincham and subjected him to a foul-mouthed tirade before driving off.

Police are now investigating the incident - near the Unicorn pub on Ashley Road, Altrincham - which is said to have been witnessed by scores of onlookers.

The taxi passenger has also told the M.E.N Keane’s behaviour was ‘aggressive and nasty’.

Fateh, from Altrincham, said the row began when he and his female passenger recognised Keane as they stopped at a cash machine on Cecil Road in Hale.

He said: “We were both saying ‘that’s Roy Keane’ but he was just glaring back at us, looking really angry. I said ‘hello’ to him, then said ‘smile’.

“He drove behind us going into Altrincham and as we got to the traffic lights, he stopped beside us and turned to us still looking really angry.

“He got out of his car in the middle of the road, held two fingers up and walked out in front of me.

“He was pointing and swearing and being very aggressive.

“He shouldn’t be allowed to treat people that way. There were lots of people stood around who couldn’t believe what they were seeing.”

Passenger Hothan Isman, 38, said: “He was staring aggressively at the driver - I was saying ‘wow, he’s really staring at you’. He would turn away then turn back and keep staring.

“When we got to the traffic lights he turned and stopped the car. He got out and was gesticulating with his arms and shouting furiously.

“The driver looked terrified and was shaking quite badly. I said he should call the police because it was very nasty, unpleasant, aggressive behaviour.”

Keane, 43, has lived in Bowdon, Cheshire, for more than a decade and is currently assistant manager of Republic of Ireland.

Police are now investigating the incident and are set to speak to Mr Kerar tomorrow.

A GMP spokeswoman confirmed: “At 11.30am police were called to Ashley Road, Altrincham to a report that a man had behaved aggressively towards another man.

“An investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Mark my words; sooner or later he will be found in the garage with a hose attached to the exhaust pipe, or do a Raul Moat.

He must be just like he was in football, in real life though, & choose his victims as people who won't do anything back, or can't due to the circumstances. There are many thousands of people, just in Manchester, who, if he behaved like that, would tear his beard off & shove it up his arse.

He always finds the ones who 'don't want any trouble'.

Wanker.

The fact police are involved for what sounds like an argument suggests there's a bit of compensation noncery here. Not to defend him as he's a cunt, but this doesn't seem to be everything the article suggests it is. The driver was shaking and scared, yet wasn't afraid to be a sarcastic arsehole by asking him to smile? I'm calling bullshit.

And his passenger is in on it too.

I'm calling bullshit on your calling bullshit.

And asking someone to smile, whilst looking through a closed window if they are staring at you would not be a sufficient reason for someone to follow them, get out at the lights & start shouting abuse, unless you are a fucking mental case.

It should be obvious from my posts on here that I always take everything at face value & never put any thought into anything.

It's just the way I am.
