Maybe the RAGS will get raped today spend £60m on an average defender.

Tottenham could allow quite a few to go loan. Adebayor, Lennon, Chiriches/ Kaboul. 'Arry'll be in there winding down the window later in the day you can be sure of that.

Has anyone expressed an interest in Mido yet?

Weight watchers might be interested in a sponsorship deal with Mido on a performance bonus basis only. Adebayor doesn't want to go to QPR or Stoke. Mail says Milner not interested in short term deal so he stays till the Summer. New contract talks resume next week apparently.

Great that we got our incomings sorted out early.

No transfer window will ever top 2008 "Man City taken over". "Man City sign Robinho"

I just read that Fail article, what do they mean by he's not interested in a short term deal? Has someone offered him a short term deal?

They also suggest he wants assurances over playing time, how does this work? Will it be written in his contract that he will definitely play a set number of games?

Or are they just talking bollox to fill column inches?

Is there any chance of City signing a left sided midfield player to give us a little balance?

Macclesfield Town 'try to sign Yaya Toure' on transfer deadline day

Transfer deadline day wouldn't be transfer deadline day without some lamentable 'banter' from lower league clubs.

[TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY LIVE]

And on Monday, it was Macclesfield Town who obliged, pretending they had designs on signing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.

Playing on the story that he was angered by City's refusal to celebrate his birthday properly last year, Macclesfield went to impressive lengths to join in the transfer deadline day lolz.

As you can see from the tweet below, they even iced a cake to get the joke across.

We are working on one big deal. Talks had stalled but we have made a big promises for the future. #skydeadlineday pic.twitter.com/CJELqxcKXE

Impressive dedication to the transfer deadline day jamboree. But, sadly, it didn't work.

Heartbreak! Just been told he only likes jam sponge cake!
