City - Newcastle

I'm not going to make an official thread yet. Too early for that.
But the lack of activity on here is boring me to death.

So what are your thoughts? Will Pellers rest players with the Barca game in mind, or will he put out the strongest eleven, considering the long break we've had?
Which City will turn up, the anxious, struggling primadonnas of the last few weeks, or the inspired world beaters from the second half against Stoke?

I have a good feeling about this game. I reckon Pellers will put out our strongest eleven and won't save anyone for Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if Bony will get game time. I don't think he will start - I think pellers will go for a Dzeko/Aguero partnership - but he will most likely get 20 minutes off the bench. Yaya back will be a boost for us. I reckon we will see his impact straight away.

4-0 for us!

I reckon 4-4-2 as well, but with Aguero and Dzeko to start and bony to replace Dzeko a bit into the second half.

I think there will be a massive confidence boost with Yaya back and with Bony waiting in the wings. I would like to see Bony start but as mentioned I think he will replace Dzeko in to the 2nd half

Wrap aguero in cotton wool before barca. Should be quite capable of beating this lot with Dzeko, Bony and Jovetic.

In one sense you're right, but Aguero hasn't really looked match fit since coming back from his last injury. I think a run out (not necessarily 90 minutes) will do him good.

Bony in, Aguero on the bench and nursed with Tues in mind. Ya Ya in.

It'd be nice to win a home game as we haven't done that for a while, and a clean sheet would be a rarity too. Id also ask for a goal from a corner but I realise that's going too far.

I thin 60 mins for Aguero and Bony for the last 30.
Jovetic on for the last 30 also replacing Silva
Fernando on for Fenandinho on 60 also

fuck it... a triple substitution on 60 mins.... get your bets on!

It'll be interesting to see if Bony adding real competition up front will spur on Dzeko or will he sulk.
Id like to see a real professional attitude from himself and Jovetic from here until the end of the season starting on Saturday.
I think with Jovetic in particular, it will be interesting to see whether he is going to show what he is made of, or just decide he's off in the summer.

Milner has a knee injury and hasn't trained all week. Everyone else is fit.

That's my thought.

I think Manuel should play this match with an eye on Barca:

Hart
Sagna Kompany Demichelis Clichy
Fernando Yaya
Navas Silva Nasri
Dzeko

I would've opted for Milner but apparently he's injured

Aguero has to start v Newcastle , he has just hit form so needs to stay sharp and match fit . Only need 65 or 70 mins from him then introduce Bony ........... Dzeko can run himself stupid for 90 mins , that would be a change this season lol . We need 3 pts tomorrow fuck resting players they have just a had fucking one and a half weeks off !!!

We might as well play Yaya for the whole game as he is suspended for Barca and we can also expect Jojo to feature as he is not in the CL squad. If we get a decent lead we will no doubt take Silva and/or Nasri off early. Bony on from the bench for 30 mins - Bobby usually started a fit new signing, even if like Sinclair he never picked him again, but MP seems to prefer the gradual approach. Milner's injury could mean Frank coming on later too.

It's a while since we have had some new options, so I'm looking forward to this.

Starting Aguero, but subbing early in the second half providing we have a couple of goals, bring on Bony and let him wet his feet putting a shit defence to the sword.

I think we should play this game as if we are already out of the Champions League & go absolutely 100%, not saving, resting anybody.

Then worry about Barca, when it's over. Otherwise, I think we will be out of both competitions by Wed morning.

not sure if we should parachute ego yaya in. yes we've missed him but second half vs stoke we played well.

why change a winning team? it usually fucks us up.

excited to see Bony though
