Diego Simeone

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Diego Simeone

Postby Mase » Thu Mar 05, 2015 7:02 pm

Thought I'd start a thread as the rumours seem to be hotting up a lot more today about Simeone refusing to sign a new contract with AM because he wants the City job.

I've made no secret that I want the Argie twat at City and I'd like him this summer. I like Pellers and I thank the bloke for last season. But it's a two way street. He'd won fuck all before City and City have him the chance to win titles before he retires. We don't owe him anything. But as I've said he seems a nice guy so I have no problem with him.

Simeone got brought in to Atletico and won things from his first season and has improved more and more since. All this while having to sell his star assets every year. I want to see a manager with passion and this guy has it. I can see players respecting him as well.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a "Pellers out!!" thread at all. But if he is going I want Simeone in 100000000%

His first season with Atletico ended with the team winning the UEFA Europa League by beating Athletic Bilbao 3–0 in the final in Bucharest.

On 31 August 2012 he won the UEFA Super Cup, beating Chelsea 4–1
On 17 May 2013, he won the Copa del Rey with Atlético beating rivals Real Madrid 2–1 at their Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

He won the league last year. Under Simeone, Atlético collected 90 points in La Liga, surpassing its 1996 record of 87, making the 2013-14 season the most successful in the club's history.

Does he have a fucking mullet? Serious question.

He can fuck off with his negotiating tactics. We aren't fucking moving from "holistic" to fucking Russell Crowd style Gladiator shit without firing the Spafia and that...ain't..happenin.

Get yr lips back around Aleks Balkan spastic peen you weirdo.

If Pellers is to then Diego Simeone wouldmbe a very good choice to replace him. Wow it seems and age has passed since i've been on here.

Not a mullet no. Unless you're parcially sighted. More of a Gyllenhaal in Prisoners.

But building a team that is very very hard to beat is the main thing though isn't it. Which he has done. They all know their role in the team and it is clear. You can't deny what he has done at Atletico isn't impressive. He's won more than Pellers already at 44.

Simeone looks a decent shout but he won't succeed if we buy badly. I don't know if the manager has any input into that. If he does nt then Simeone may find it difficult.

Simeone doesn't speak English does he. Far rather have Guardiola which may or not mean waiting till summer 2016. Wonder whether Patrick Vieira is in with a shout. Pellegrini still favourite for another year provided he finishes the season decently which probably means runner up in the League.

I dont like Simeone, he is a great manager but I dont have to like him. His antics in the CL final with Pepe were appalling, although pepe is also a Twat, no manager should behave that way.

He's got players like Tiago playing excellently. I personally think he'll be okay even without much input.

Guardiola managed the Barcelona B team and was then promoted. I'm not saying Vieira will be promoted when Pellegrini goes but I wouldn't be totally shocked if he was. I suspect Khaldoun wants Guardiola and he may have to wait till 2016 to get him. By then the rags may be looking to get rid of Butthead of course and could be in for him as well. One way or another he'll probably come to Manchester unless he replaces Wenger at Arsenal.

No thanks.

Improve our transfers and keep the manager.
If we swapped the summer transfers with chelsea's, we'd be 10 points ahead of them now. Easily.

Costa, Fabregas, matic.

If the Holistic vision spouted by the powers that be a few summers ago is still the chosen strategy then I very much doubt that Diego Simeone is the man for the job.
