mls on sky

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

They were both shit. But NYC created about 4 or 5 good scoring chances all from passing moves as I remember. The home side created zero, just long shots & appalling dives. That's decent for a first game away from home. We would settle for it.

If you took Kaka out of the Orlando team, they would have barely had an attack (& he was a diving twat as well but got away with it).

We watched a differnt match my omniscient friend.

Orlando City were far better going forward. It wasn't even debatable where I sat.

Maybe you should get your ass to a match you armchair fan.

I think you were probably caught up in the atmosphere, waving your arms about and blowing Uwe Seeler.

Commentators were getting pretty carried away.

Have to agree with Ted, Doom Master.
The beat football with passing and control was played by NYC. A lot of Kick and Rush from Orlando.
Shocking surface for trying to play balls through, always running away too quickly.
I would say New York lacked cutting edge and Villa was maybe not all he could have been.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

Were you the Orlando fan in the Mexican wrestling mask?

Only saw the last 15 minutes or so and NYC panicked every time they were attacked, with a dodgy defence and midfielders making stupid tackles in dangerous areas. Glad to see that we've insisted on that being an integral part of the City Football Group.

I've got to see this on television. It's recorded. I can tell you from where I was sat, between the squinting in my Mexican wrestling mask, the team playing the long balls were our holistic City.

That pitch/stadium mixed with the camera angle is making me feel queasy. Looks tacky as fuck.

Was thinking the pitch looked really narrow as well? Could well be the camera angle though

Same here. Villa took his goal well though. I think they might still lose this as they are 2nd best to everything

They just showed an angle from the top stands behind the goals and it's weird, as the stand isn't square onto the pitch, presumably due to rounders being played there.

Pitch is a disgrace as well. Have they never heard of grass?

well, crazy game at yankee stadium it is.

nycfc certainly trying to be an attack minded side, attempting to emulate the first team's style, that you can see.

beyond porous defences exposing the lack of quality via the frantic play.

certainly entertaining to watch. will be interesting to see how ny sports fans respond. i could see this team catching on.

Was rather weird when villa scored the way everyone celebrated. I was puzzled at how fanatical they were when its the first time they have watched them.

Looks a good attendance too

basically...you're right. i say entertaining, because that's what it is to the average american eye, and in a strange way the poor quality allows for fluke plays that would be shocking to see with such regularity at higher levels.

of course the quality is far lower. yet, as city fans, we could one day see some young talent develop here, or or maybe one day through some young nyc area kid who is 10 years old today.

it's an investment...

2-0. USA! USA!

Think I might support this lot instead, as at least they're putting a shift in.

Finally got back from my night out in new York. The atmosphere was incredible. I really wasn't expecting it to be like that.

Also, I don't understand the criticism of the stadium or the pitch. From my view, everything was fine. The place was packed. I had an incredible time really
