Players you think are good but...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Players you think are good but...

Postby Cocacolajojo1 » Sun Apr 19, 2015 4:11 pm

...you can't really argue why

Kevin Nolan. I have no idea what it is and I get the impression that he's not a very pleasurable guy to talk to, but... I don't know, I just think he's kinda good. Not City good deffo top 7 good, perhaps not this season but deffo a couple of seasons back. I can't really explain why I have this opinion.

Anyone else?
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Joseph Barton had the potential to be a good player. Shame he is a dickhead

Andi Weimann is someone who has shown a little bit of skill in a couple of games against us and, until I think about it and look at his general performances and output, my brain has decided he is a decent player.

I always thought Laurent Charvet was a good player but everyone else in the stadium thought he was useless. I could never tell why but I was in a minority of one so I must have been wrong. As for Nolan and Barton....they both have the same problem, just not quick enough.

I was similar with Paul Ritchie. I never understood why he didn't get a chance

I recall Charvet having one good game in the Championship under Keegan. Not sure I can remember one for Ritchie.

Does Jovetic count?

Henderson has a bit of potential. Mauricio Gaudino I always thought tasty. Darren bent always seems to score wherever he plays

Yaya toure.

On the subject of Nolan in years gone by he's managed to grab quite a few goals for his teams without being a fancied player or out and out attacker. He's been a cracking fantasy player. I agree he's pretty good.

Papisse Cisse but, in all fairness, I feel he's just someone who is wayward, inconsistent and flatters to deceive.

Noble and Hiddleatone are good examples.
Brunt at WBA is similar.

Grealish at Villa. Though I always thought Marc Albrighton could have been a lot better than he became.

At City, I thought Jim Whitley could have developed into a good player.

These are perfect examples. Always liked Noble. Brint is a good one.

Another for me is Liam Ridgewell.

Right?! He was imperative for when Newcastle came back from 0-4 to 4-4 against Arsenal a few years back, both in his presence on the field and his actual play. For example. I kind of like him.

Well if that's the case, I can only say that that's usually the case, so can't really be blamed on them.

So, I was asking for players that you like but if you'd have to argue the case, you wouldn't really be able to do so.
