Degenerate Crackhead and Lawro week 37

Postby Wonderwall » Fri May 15, 2015 10:39 am

Lawro is back to his best this week after going mental last week predicting City would win 3-0 against QPR, he is back into his rhythm this week

Swansea picked up another fantastic win last week, this time against Arsenal.
I could not believe Arsene Wenger's pithy comments about the Swans' tactics afterwards.
I'm sorry but they were never going to come to Emirates Stadium and try to go toe-to-toe with the Gunners. Why would they? They would be asking for trouble if they did that.

They deserved praise, not criticism and it is about time I eulogised about Swansea myself too.
Basically, they have stuck a pie in my face with their form because I thought they would sink like a stone after selling Wilfried Bony to Manchester City in January.

They have done the opposite and have gone higher than probably even they thought possible, with a top-six finish within their reach. That is very different to their position in the league table (below) based on my predictions.
By some distance they are the team who I have been the most wrong about, so I am sure their fans will be pleased rather than annoyed that I am going to tip them to lose again on Sunday.
Manchester City's run of form has come too late for Manuel Pellegrini's side in terms of the title, but they really have the bit between their teeth at the moment.
Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Man of few words this week, Merson says:

Man City seem to be playing well again now and are finally back to their best form of earlier in the season after last week’s thrashing of QPR.

I just cannot see them losing this one. I think City will be too strong and have too much for Swansea here, winning 3-1.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-3

Wish I could share their optimism. Swansea are doing well at the moment, are at home and you get the impression they'd love to sneak into a Europa place. This will be a mega tough fixture. However, should we win, we will be almost certain of second place, so we have a damn good incentive

I just hope they are suffering the giddying effects of winning at the Emirates on Monday and we face a team who aren't quite 'at it' as they have been in recent weeks.

The good thing is that being at home, they will setup to win the game which I believe suits us more than playing at home where they would setup for a smash and grab causing us a struggle to break them down.

I think we will beat them comfortably

We should start Bony with Aguero as well. The law of the returning player scoring will hopefully ring true
