Whatever.
When the next generation come of age, I know where I'll be putting my money on for POTY.

And that's in no way a criticism of Sterling.

Interesting to see the GOAT on sky earlier. Does that mean they have accepted us into the sky elite, or is it just a case of pleasing the form teams fans until they have a chance to revert to the norm? I can't help but suspect it's the latter.

Now David Silva had a poor game yesterday.

The wife beating dogger making a cunt out of himself once again.

Pep Guardiola's Man City have been brilliant so far - but this is the worst Premier League I've seen for years

Liverpool and and Arsenal aren’t competing. They've done nothing to suggest they'll threaten by Christmas, let alone May

I have to doff my cap to Manchester City and Pep Guardiola for the remarkable start they have made to this season.

They have been brilliant to watch, mesmerising at times, on their way to setting a Premier League record of 37 points from 13 games.

It is a wonderful achievement.

But if you were to ask fans who have watched the English top flight for a number of years how this season compares to those gone by, then I’m sure many would say that, overall, City are playing in the worst quality league they have seen for a long time.

Liverpool aren’t competing, Arsenal aren’t competing…

Pep Guardiola celebrates another big result for his side on Saturday (Image: Getty Images Europe)

Not properly, anyway. Nominally, they are, in beating teams by twos, threes and fours here and there.

But too often they follow up good results with a defeat or a draw against a side they ought to be beating.

Neither of those two clubs has done anything in the first third of the season to suggest that they will still be on City’s coat-tails by Christmas, let alone by May.

I said a couple of weeks ago that Manchester United are the only team with the squad depth to go toe-to-toe with City over the course of the season and that’s not great for the Premier League at all.

Chelsea should compete for longer than Liverpool and Arsenal but they too are having their struggles now they are back in the Champions League.

Then you have Tottenham, who have drawn with Burnley, Swansea and West Brom already this season, and who were poor a fortnight ago in their latest big test against Arsenal.

Their manager, Mauricio Pochettino, admitted after Saturday’s game against the Baggies that the 10-point difference between Spurs and City was probably too big a gap to close.

City then went and extended it to 13 the following day.

So while, yes, their achievement is a fine one by a very good manager, and while you can only beat what is put in front of you, I’m finding it difficult to get too excited about what they are doing for now.

This, after all, is a club which has spent billions in a short space of time to get in this position against teams like Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and West Brom.

Where City will be judged given their huge spend is in the Champions League, when they take on Barcelona in the Nou Camp, Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena and Real Madrid in the Bernabeu.

The question for them now is not whether they can go to Selhurst Park or Dean Court and get a result, but rather can they go to those Spanish and German fortresses and turn it on in the same way that they have been doing on the domestic front?

If the answer is yes then we will all be mightily impressed and City will get all the plaudits they deserve.

Did Silva really have a crap game?

He made the excellent pass to Aguero which he didn't quite control perfectly and the center back made the block.
He made another great pass to Aguero to hit the shot parried to Sterling which he missed.
He made the excellent cushioned pass for Sterling when he won the penalty.

All 3 were real quality and could have lead to goals. An average player would kill to be able to make 3 such passes in a game. Silva is obviously top top quality so the expectations of him are incredibly high but he did not have a crap game.

He definitely didn't have one of his better games but to say he was crap is plain wrong.

Sane's a future Balon D'Or winner in a post-Messi/Ronaldo world. I'm pretty sure of it. And I'm not implying Sterling is a lesser player, just saying Sane is set to become something really special. And he's ours. (They're both ours)

“Worst prem ever” despite the fact that there have been several premier league campaigns where he was considered a top striker?

Yes, the worse Premier League only because City are miles above anybody else and, of course, Stanley doesn't like that. He doesn't like it one bit.

His last rant had him saying he wouldn't pay to see us which made him look a bit of a fool. At least he's giving us some credit now, and watching us.

I'm still totally gobsmacked that Lukaku didn't get banned. Has there been a media storm about it in the UK? The FA really should have to come out and explain this decision, since the footage is unambiguous for anyone not carrying a white cane (or wearing a red shirt).

Note how they have reported this, using 'alleged' when they could have just used the words 'kicked-out'. There was no alleged about it, if it was alleged it would mean there was no evidence and that it still had to be proved. Well, the evidence is there for all to see so why the need for such reporting. That is, of course, unless a certain club got in-touch with certain elements of the media to set the agenda, not allowing trial by Sky.

None of the big outlets reported the incident until after the weekend, or at least very late on Sunday, even though social sites were going crazy to get the point across. Why would that happen, unless influence has been exerted to ensure the Rags keep Lukaku on the pitch for the next 3 games.
