I don't honestly think amortisation of about 25M per year, added to getting a dozen senior players off the books, will give any FFP problems at all!

Which makes stories like this all the more shit.

More so, I actually think we could add it to 50M a year - less than the TV increases - and still be in profit.

Im surprised anyone bothers putting in amortisation or depreciation in any P&Ls these days...there are other ways to include those kind of costs without fuckign up the P&L completely with the generic A&D calculation.

I think many companies have two sets of books....the tax law is always played around with....as is what is shown to investors.

Or smart and operating within the 'rules'. Then again, we've been fucked over before when believing we were within the 'rules'.

United's and Chelsea's year ends are 30 June, so United 'sneaked' Lindelof's £31m transer into last year's figures.

By my calculation, United will have spent £115m (inc £40m for Matic) so far on 2 players this FY, Chelsea c.£126.6m on 3 players and us £134.1m on 4 players. That is £28.75m, £25.31m and £22.35m per player respectively. That of course doesn't take account of sales, amortisation or any payments for met add-on conditons on other transfers.

I saw in that graphic of the Walker transfer deal from the Sun that the £45m was in installments (over the 5 years?), so does that mean we're actually just paying £9m/year or just allowing for that in the accounts?
