I’d bet good money they do. At high up levels folks will be friendly with their counterparts at other similar firms and will often meet socially and of course they will talk shop. They won’t give secrets away of course but they will discuss strategies so both parties can maximise profits and returns in different ponds.

No, it isn’t coincidence
All businesses talk to each other within their industries at a certain level. Significant actions, policiez etc are mutually beneficial. However there is a level of detail at which that is stopped and doesnt take place in order to maintain a competitive advantage. You don't give away your trade secrets if you can help it.Transgressing those boundaries is called industrial espionage. I'd give fucl all help to any of cartel actively seeking to restict our club
