Yep, you guessed it.

Brighton 0 Manchester City 2

Kind of comforting in a way!

I'd be more than happy if that score was correct NB.

They'll be all fired up and keeping a clean sheet would be an additional bonus, however, I'd settle for the proverbial scrappy 1-0 win at this point in time.

Exactly MC. Mentioned in another thread the other day that this is not a gimme fixture. Never easy away at a promoted club early doors. Sooner have Chelsea away as it goes.

Couldn't agree more NB.

At this point in time, I think it's vital that we get a run of victories at the start of the season, irrespective - some extent - of how they arrive, to allow our new squad to blend together.

After that, the style can be reviewed and worked upon, if/where/when necessary.

Having said all that, it would be out of this world if we could start off, blitzkrieg style, playing to Pep's exacting satisfaction from the off.

Just watched 'The Debate' on Sky - Merson, Stelling and Kamara - on City's chances. The quality of debate was simply dire, never got off Kyle Walker .
Deadheads. Sanchez to the Dippers for £70m according to the degenerate, Kammy thinks possibly City or Barca but he'll probably stay put but if it's City Arsenal fans would explode.

Mmmmm, exploding Arsenal fans would be an interesting phenomenon. However, the very act of all these unfortunate little souls self combusting here, there and everywhere sounds a bit messy, with a lot of clearing up afterwards to be carried out.

It would be very inconsiderate and not very 'English' of them all to do this collectively.

(as the American Rock Band 'Styx' postulated, I've got too much time on my hands.    )

SSN intro to today's press conference snippets -- 'Guardiola claims the club has been shrewd in its signings '

not 'says' they use the word 'claims' to imply deceit.

It's so funny to see how annoyed they all are about how good we're looking for this season. Saying things like "it'd be a surprise if city don't win the league" both negates the spirit of competition and belittles the fans joy of winning a title. They never say things like that about other clubs, its always positive and balanced but with city it's like they're preemptively belittling our potential success, and setting themselves up for a sacrificial feast if we don't win a league packed full of top class rivals with excellent talent and wealth.

Wankers

I agree with you, but your first paragraph wasn't really needed. Your second says it all.

Latest episode of "The Debate"...

What's one of the topics for discussion?

Host Jeff Stelling...

"Have City bought the title?"

Then to start the segment on us...

"Manchester City....Goodness me...They've spent an absolute fortune."

Chris Kamara says pretty much all of what we've heard before (Pep didn't adapt) but says now he knows and will be better.

Paul Merson: Thinks Pep will play the same way, and has no excuses this season. "I'll be shocked if they don't win the league." Then went on about how much we spent on "two right backs."

Kamara: Pep doesn't care about money just wants the players.

Merson: I think that puts more pressure on the players.

Kamara: Suggests the fee for Walker will have the same effect it had on Pogba last season (it affected his play).

Stelling: A "phenomenal" amount of players have left

Kamara: No excuses

Stelling: Does he have to win CL or PL?

Kamara: Yes. One or the other

Merson: He'll win the PL

I've heard better debates in Prime Minister's Question Time.

Are you off you Rocker ? ( if i may be so bold ) Styx

i used to let their albums warm in the sunshine on the window ledge and make plant pots out of them .

Jeff Bezos would probably sell them for ten times the price as dishes for peanuts .

Not premier league live coverage of our games in October which is unusual. Good thing is we get two successive home games on Saturday at three o'clock so just booked my train tickets at rock bottom prices!

Why can't sky or BT recruit a suitable ex-City player?

I saw the bit about City on your youtube channel JC and it makes for unpleasant viewing watching these 3 clowns trying to twist "the debate" to their sordid agenda.
