One hour to kick off.

Caballero, Sagna, Kompany (C), Mangala, Clichy, Fernando, Zuculini, Garcia, Silva, Sterling, Iheanacho.

I wonder if it's 4-3-3 like this...
Caballero
Sagna Kompany Ze Mangler Cliché
Fernando Zuculini Garcia
Sterling Iheanacho Silva

I wonder if Zuculini is in the shopping window considering the amount of game time he's got so far, or if the management has really seen something in him in training.

Good to see Kelechi and Garcia starting. Obviously interested to see how Sterling does as well. Are Denayer and Bony on the tour?

I don't think Bony travelled due to illness.

didn't he play quite a lot in last year's pre-season tour as well? and played rather well too so I have absolutely no idea what the club will do with him.
my money is on another loan though

Very interesting who the 3 young ones are. Iheanacho is no surprise but Garcia alongside Silva is a wow for me and then Zuculini is getting a big chance.

It looked like we played 4-1-4-1 in the last game to me, wheras it keeps being called 4-3-3 everywhere.

Has anyone from City said it was 4-3-3 or is it just the media ?

Denayer is named as a sub today, as is Dzeko and Jovetic. Bony didn't travel

City don't like to label a style of playing do they. It's flexible. I would certainly see today's team more as a 4.1.4.1 but I can see Sterling having a fairly free role. Maybe a lot on the right side but with license to just play. A bit like Silva who might nominally start left side but float all across the line.

Surprised Zuclini is playing, maybe he does have a future afterall?

Is this live on sky again?

Sinclair had a lot of game time and IMO a pretty impressive pre-season last year and then Nothing!

The classic 4-3-3 also has one sole holding midfielder, so the only difference to a 4-1-4-1 is the role & positioning of the wingers/wide midfielders, right? Loosely like this, anyway:

Good. Having tow threads was a drag.
