Just got an email from City

Dear Bob Ranson ,

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

The first home game of the 2015/16 Premier League season is fewer than four weeks away, and we need your support with the final element of the stadium expansion works. As part of these works we are required to undertake a test event, which is why we are writing to you today.

The success of this event is key to helping us ensure that all supporters will be able to sit in their usual seats for the first game against Chelsea on Sunday 16 August.

OPEN TRAINING
On Wednesday 12 August the Etihad Stadium will be host to an open training session, featuring the Men and Women's First Teams, that the whole family can enjoy. You can arrive from 5:45pm for pre-training fun, entertainment and competitions prior to the first training session starting at 6:45pm. As one of our South Stand Level 3 Seasoncard holders, we're giving you the first opportunity to attend.

Tickets are priced at £3 for Adults and £1 for Under 16s and Over 65s and all proceeds will go to City in the Community. 100 City Points will be awarded following your attendance on the evening.

Your exclusive window to buy your ticket and secure your seat for this pivotal moment in the Club's history will open from 9am, Thursday 23 July. Tickets will be made available to all other Seasoncard holders from 9am, Monday 27 July. Click here to buy online, call +44 (0)161 444 1894 (option 1, option 3) or visit us at the Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the Etihad Stadium City Store. The Ticket Office and Supporter Services are open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm (closed Sundays and Bank Holidays).

Places are limited for this exclusive event, so do not delay in securing your ticket.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - CITY v CHELSEA, SUNDAY 16 AUGUST 2015
If the test event on Wednesday 12 August is a success, we will be awarded a safety certificate which enables us to open all areas of the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 16 August. Every effort is being made to ensure that we pass all aspects of the test event and at this time, we have no reason to doubt that the event will be anything other than a success. However, we must prepare for all possible outcomes.

As we await confirmation of the success of the above test event, we are asking a number of Seasoncard holders whose seasonal seat is located in South Stand Level 3, including you, to provisionally select an alternative seat in the stadium for the Chelsea match.

You are not releasing your Seasoncard seat at this time. You will only be relocated to your chosen alternative seat if approval is not received after the test event. Your choosing of an alternative seat is a precautionary measure, and we appreciate your support and co-operation with this process.

Your window to select from any available seat in the stadium is open from 9am, Thursday 23 July until 5.30pm on Friday 24 July.

Visit reserve.mcfc.co.uk and select your preferred alternative seat. You can also choose an alternative seat by calling Supporter Services on +44 (0)161 444 1894 (option 1, option 3) or by visiting the Ticket Office.

You can select potential alternative seats for your group by using your Seasoncard Account Management. All supporters in your group that may be impacted will be able to relocate together in this way. If you need assistance in ensuring that groups or parent/child are allocated seats together, please contact Supporter Services.

Supporters who do not choose a potential alternative seat by 5.30pm, Friday 24 July will be provisionally relocated to the best available seat by the Club.

Please also note that the majority of seats open to you for this fixture will be located in Level 3 of the Colin Bell Stand and the East Stand.

You will receive confirmation no later than 12:00pm (noon) on Thursday 13 August to confirm whether you will be sat in your Seasoncard seat, or if you have been relocated to your selected alternative seat.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

Danny Wilson
Director of Stadium Sales & Operations

Sounds like a contingency measure incase the test event doesn't go to plan and they don't get their safety certificate in time for the Chelsea game.

That reads as a precautionary plan only. It's good to see we are covering all possible outcomes, but I'm confident all will be sorted for the Chelsea game. It seems that event is being held to prove all is safe.

This must have caused all kinds of problems.

They need to keep back 5k seats to ensure the new stand fans have a place to relocate to
If the certificate is given, they have Friday and Saturday to sell 5k ticekts

Not sure about that. It may not be all or nothing. If there is a problem with the new stand then they may only let, say, 3k fans use it instead of 5k. I'm in that bit but have not had an email....yet.

I would imagine it cant be used at all for an event if it does not have a certificate

It's not like it's a completely new stand though, they might take it's old capacity and certificate into account if it fails the new test. (not that I'm an expert in the field of safety or anything, just guessing).

It wouldn't be possible to relocate the whole stand & the away fans would have to be involved.

It will be the top tier.

Was just about to put the same Fu. Surly if it's a test event to make sure the ground is ready then in order to fill it..... make it free. Folks will have to leave work early to get there and if they want to get numbers they need to give some incentive.

They asked for your support and you raised your mighty middle finger.

It even said "we need your help."

You respond better to the Nigerian oil scams.

Cheers

If there's any delay in the stadium being ready, I strongly suspect it's the rock wool which is at fault.
