Presumably that was a joke about Dzeko. There are excuses; South Americans away Kompany Mangala injured. This was nowhere near our first eleven. That said it was a poor display and won't do our confidence any good. This was one season with no euros or World Cups but the Copa America means we don't have everyone available for a proper pre season. Very frustrating. Could we do with further strengthening? You betcha. A left back and a further injection of pace and threat to back up Sterling. Presumably that's what de Bruyne is supposed to bring in if we get him.

pbl / dazby / slim - do they do this at all aussie sporting events?

I've seen it twice, at the two games this week. Can't defend it, aussie football fans are mostly cunts.

Funnily enough, only at rugby league games. A lot of kids in the crowd methinks.

I thought Sagna was brilliant. But really, our central defence was at fault for all of the goals. Vinnie and Denayer would have been a different story.

I wanted to punch the fuck out of those booing our Raheem. I love him already.

Good to see Yaya get a great reaction from 100,000 fans. A shame Raheem couldn't get the same.

Pellegrini says Mangala was sick this morning so not available. Kompany is away because his wife's having a baby. Mystery solved.

Not good obviously but nothing to get worried and worked up about. The main thing for me wasn't the center of defence or any one individual but how we seemed to get overrun when they attacked at times but whenevrr we got forward they seemed to be packed around us.

Is that because we move the ball too slowly and let them get back or is it that when we lose the ball we just don't get back into position quickly. No doubt a combination of everything but when you lose the ball in a forward position on the right you don't expect to have the left full back out of position as well.

Massively notable for me today was the first touch of Madrid was much better than ours. Of course Edin leads the way in lack of control but too often we lost the ball because , under pressure, we couldn't retain possession. We didn't seem to press them as strongly in forward positions but even when we did they moved the ball on superbly, spun around for the return and we were in trouble.

Great experience for the 2 young lads and I am sure for the others who came on. Roberts did seem keen to get on the ball but having Edin as a target was pointless. Lopes I didn't see involved at all but somebody else on here seemed impressed by his contribution. Kelechi did a few bits and pieces but he was dumped out wide to allow Edin on which I thought was strange.

Got a lot worse after Delph came off.
Until then we hadn't done badly; kept the ball and moved it around well.
After that we had gaping holes in the middle as Navas plays too wide and Nasri doesn't have the energy that Delph has.
Fair enough criticism that the CBs have to deal with balls into the box but we have them too much time to get the ball in.

It'll be different when we play them in the last 16 !!

Liverpool play the might of a Malaysia XI tonight and if they win, it'll go a long way towards bringing the Premier League title back to KKKlanfield after City's heavy defeat!

We seem to be getting a lot of stick for losing considering it's just a bloody friendly, could also have been against someone embarrassing like LA Dairy Milk - where are the "regretting it NOW Memphis?" headlines??

just caught the second half. That Isco character looks tiday as fuck still. So handsome in that beard as well.

Nothing really to say about my impressions of us, other than that shirt is ALMOST acceptable. It's just a teensy tiny bit shit with that moonsleeve shit thingy. Very close to reasonable. Stupid Nike.

cheers

It's better than losing 3-0 on your own patch with a full strength side in a game that actually matters.
