All Other Non-City Matches On Aug.8-9, 2015

I really hope that I'm not stepping on any toes here, by starting this topic.
It is usually Wonderwall, Chinners and Beefy, who start main topics, to discuss all the live matches.
So, I was surprised that no one had already started this thread, considering the PL is kicking off in less than 12 hours.

With City playing last, on Monday evening and the team still being assembled, I'm not sure if anyone will be watching any of the Saturday & Sunday matches.
Just in case, I thought it might be helpful to have a thread, to discuss all the opening weekend matches, other than our own. Enjoy the season!

Rodney, what a perfect omen a Rag defeat would be, for the first match of the season!
If De Gea has been axed, let's hope that Harry Kane gives keeper, Sam Johnstone a nightmare debut!

hopefully spurs can take advantage of the rags shit backline and keeper. With de gea out, that leaves romero and johnstone. both are absolute shite

Halnone, in some respects, Sergio Romero is a better keeper than De Gea.
However, unless his English has vastly improved, Romero may struggle to communicate with his defenders, just like De Gea originally did.

Let's hope that Spurs put a load of goals past whichever Ragkeeper that plays!

Saul, yes, the newly promoted teams that haven't recently been in the PL, always seem a bit of a potential surprise, with everything to prove. It's also great to see that part of the country represented in the league.

By the time City host Bournemouth at home, on October 17th, both teams should be settled in and we will see how they cope with life at the top. City will visit Bournemouth, on April 2nd, 2016, when the longer days and better weather, might make the long journey easier.
I always admire those promoted teams that can avoid the drop, right after.

DM: For starters, Romero already had a great working relationship with van Gaal, when they were both at AZ. De Gea may be benched & will probably be sold. Romero credits Louis with teaching him how to save penalties.

If you watched the Copa America, you'll know that Romero is a better penalty saver, than De Gea. He is also physically more muscular and copes better with nasty, physical clashes in the box. There is a good reason why, at 28 years old and with more experience, Romero has been #1 keeper for Argentina, while De Gea is still waiting for his turn, in Spain.

At age 28, Sergio Romero has had years playing for the Argentinian national team, with man of the match performances in both the World Cup and the Copa America. Romero is also credited with helping Sampdoria to get promoted.

I do admire Romero's work for the Argentina team. However, now that "Chiquito" has transferred to the enemy, I don't really worry about either Romero, or De Gea.
All the Ragkeepers are doomed!!
¡Salud!

Wilson, gradel, and ritchie. Quite the attacking trio, if you go by goals scored last season

NT did it if Beefy hadn't done so by a certain time, although I could be thinking of our match day thread, either way, I'd like to revert back.

I think OP just has "new poster syndrome", full of enthusiasm like many before him but perhaps not as long posts.

I read his posts as if they were generated by some kind automated word processor or translator, quite a unique style

Meanwhile Agent Cute is down in Brum listening in on the Baggies conversations and jotting down notes.

Doug are you down the burrow yet tunneling in under the training ground?

Yeah, I'm not comfortable with us handing a rookie the reins on this.

We need a steady hand at least for the first half of the season.

Is the game announcer on BT sports the same United fan who got "take it take it take it" shouted into his face in a special match a few years ago? Not seen a picture but it sounds like him.
