Be great- new contract for slabhead and we'd make money on Phillips.

No way the football gods are that kind

England's finest ever manager loves them both. He'll probably go for Pickford if Everton go down.

Heard this last week and thought it was an early April fool. Would be a masterstroke if Jimbo can pull it off

Absolutely PMSL if true

It would be absolutely crazy if true. Can anyone think of the last time a manager went from a national team to manage a 'big' club straight off the back of an international competition?

I get where you are coming from but, could have you imagined 10 years ago half the crazy things that have happened at the swamp, i know I couldn't have, and the longer it carries on, the better.

No, I'm absolutely with you on that. If it did happen, though, it'd just prove Ratcliffe being left in charge of footballing decisions wouldn't be the corner they (and the media) think they've turned...

Edit: Imagine their pre-season and early season, no matter how England do. UEFA final in mid-July, then a week or two away to face/hide from the press (all while the Rags are on a US pre-season tour), then back to Manchester to finally find out what he's let himself in for. It'll be late September before he's even finished being shown the ropes. There's no way the FA would let him take time off before the Euros to find his way around there.

I think we all thought they'd be a bit average for a couple of seasons, then carry on where they left off.
The present long running comedy show is the stuff of dreams.

Southgate's coronation to the swamp throne being openly discussed by the rag media on a daily basis.

Some respect they have for their existing manager

The funniest bit, is that unlike all the previous post bacon managers, where they had mixed feelings, Ten Hag was universally regarded as the messiah by the rag fans.
