atmosphere was absolutely piss poor though. A disgrace that fans can only get up for it for the Chelsea's of this world...

All new faces so looks like not many season ticket holders around 110 this year. And people in the 'standing section' voluntarily sitting down :-\

Trust me mate it was our first time this season and, listening from CB level 3, the atmosphere is 20 times better than the previous arrangement

From what I've read the Watford support didn't really turn up so it's understandable if it was a bit quieter.

Anybody mentioned the empty seats yet?

Another thing - when we can get up we always sit right at the top of CB near half way. Often there are loads of what you might call guests - Chinese, Scots all sorts with no City gear who have clearly been given free tickets from some organization or from their trip organiser. Now its all City fans, cleanly of some long standing in most cases

Atmosphere yesterday was ok for a low key game , much better than last season when we had similar opponents who parked the bus . Watford fans were piss poor probably totally overawed with us and the Etihad ? Good vibe and buzz amonst city fans this season at the matches .

Yes, the atmosphere was fine; there is no ground in any country (I would bet) where it is full pitch for every game, even Barca or Real playing a workmanlike La Liga side, and certainly not the famous Anfield or the Swamp.

its not a low key game!!

I just really dont get why people bother paying the money when they treat it like an under 9's game.

i have nothing against tourists if they want to 'join in' with the block.

but fans in rows whicj are all standing were sat down in silence from the off. Its mind boggling.

The south stand actually out sung everyone. i think the south stand are poor for a 3 tiered standing block. Chelsea atmosphere was quality but south stand only got going after we scored.

Have I just heard that right, Sky (Ratboy) reporting that we weren't convincing yesterday?

That's how you set the agenda folks, next we'll be hearing that we should walk this season even though they predicted us as an average of 4th.

Would love Wedderburn to be given the gig of presenting Super Sunday and just to laugh at Carragher whenever he tries to speak.

Chappers on MOTD2 was just saying he got a load of stick on Twitter for pointing out the transfer values for the rags and swans starting line ups today.

Funnily when we lose that's something that's flaunted every time.

For those interested it was about £22 mill to £219 mill

Of course it was a low key game in the context of this season . Plenty of "huge" games coming up ......... keep calm , enjoy the ride and chill out !

Stewarding was a joke on Saturday. Last weekend the new SS 3rd tier all stood next to the away fans in 314/5 but this week everyone was made to sit or get ejected and it killed the atmosphere

I've been away since the game on Saturday so haven't read everything here. Seems to me that was one of those games you just have to win and it doesn't really matter how you do it. Watford were one of the most negative teams I can recall in years with their approach and at half time it was working well for them.

They had Troy watsisface playing in a wide right defensive role and he is their main striker isn't he? They played a version of 4.2.4 with the 2 being sat in the hole to stop Silva or anyone get the ball in that position and the front 4 were a midfield defensive line in their own half. If they cleared the ball there was nobody there to even chase it.

Creating wasn't easy and even then it was a fleeting sharp chance so great credit to Pellers to shove Sterling down the middle and get the pay off immediately. So a good performance by City without it being even close to great. No doubt plenty of other teams will come along and try the buss approach but we will have to be wary of the teams who can do that but also carry a threat on the counter attack.

For me Fernandinho was MotM with his reading of the game , breaking up play and passing simple stuff and then capping it off with a great goal. Sagna continues to show his qualities primarily defensively but it was a super cross for the first goal brilliantly taken by Raheem. Kolarov again excellent as was Mangala in the little he had to do.

Troy Deeney and yes they were playing 4-6-0.

I think it was Gullit who said as much on MotD and when the host tried to laugh it off, he said "no, I'm serious" and restated it.

They had a plan and fair play to them they did really well in the first half. Wasn't pretty and that sort of negativity is horrible but do we expect teams to come over and try to play us at our own game? Not a side in this league wouldn't get slaughtered doing that.

Strange one that as the top tier away fan allocation was half empty . A few tourists in 121 who weren't there for the Chav fixture , expecting loads for Juve CL tie on the 15th !
