Ruining football.

You've got your famous five in Bardsley, Bronze, Houghton (c), Scott and Duggan.

Demi Stokes has earned a recall (after scandalously missing the World Cup) and for the first time Izzy Christiansen has been called up.

I'm sure she's from Macclesfield.

City actually have quite a few local girls in the team at the minute and they can all play.

The next one to get a call up might be Keira Walsh who is still a teenager I think. Excellent holding midfield player.
Delighted for Izzie though. She has been putting in consistent quality performances and well deserves the call up.

Pretty sure she must have some heritage on her dad's side going by the name.

Sounds like it.

Either way great news and bodes well for the women's game.

Ruining football as always.

Agree on both points. Jenny Beattie might be City's most important player and she's been forced to move to centre back to play since Keira Walsh has stepped in so superbly.

Georgia Stanway is one for the future too, there is something there.

I thought Jenny looked superb at center back on Sunday and not surprisingly won player of the match.Maybe that's her best position too and with Keira looking so good in the holding role it gives the manager the option. I was so impressed last season when Keira joined the team at how good she was for someone so young and she forced her way into the team for the cup final as she had done so well.

Georgia does like she has something doesn't she and still only 16! She is actually living in the house of a friend of mine who accommodate City players and is there with Daphne Corbyn as well ( she is another new player with some excellent qualities) Seems to have a decent , touch and pace and must be living a dream at the moment getting game time in big games.

It was only a fortnight ago that Jenny played up front.

Yeah can't believe Georgia is only 16, she doesn't play like it.

Daphne Corboz is class, she's the American Dave silva. Worried I can't seem to find out what her injury is though.

Wonder if anyone will be going after revenge on Tash Dowie tomorrow night. It was an act of revenge by Dowie for an earlier injury in the game that caused Duggan's injury.

Yet another fantastic win. I fucking hate the dippers so it feels like 4 points. We will win the league.

Dowie got plenty of booing tonight but hardly featured in the game. Pretty well nobody from Liverpool featured actually as we were so dominant. The only question from very early on was whether we would actually score the goal(s) needed to win the game.

I thought so much of our play was excellent but when it came to the final 3rd we just don't have the quality or composure to finish moves off and score the goals to win games easily. It seems to me a little bit of panic creeps in, we get a little anxious and snatch at things. To score just on half time was so so important and maybe we got that little bit of luck as I think the referee could easily have blown for a foul by Harding just before the pass that sent Lucy Bronze away down the right. Great pass inside to Izzie though and a top finish from her again.

Such a well timed break down the left from Stanway for her to lay on the 2nd for Harding to score her first goal and take the tension out of the game.Izzie PotM and deservedly but Keira was excellent again in the deeper role in front of a defence that was hardly tested tonight.

Decent performance last night, not there best as Doug said the final third left a lot to be desired in the first half. Thought they really stepped it up second half.

A review of the game can be found here please enjoy:

Deservedly so as she deliberately took out Duggan as she blamed her for breaking Becky Easton's arm.

It was a bloodbath by women's standards last night, there were a couple of late tackles and TWO yellow cards.

Sundays game postponed because City are under investigation for fielding an ineligible player!
